The part worked
The part worked upon replacement, delivery took about 4-days, I'm pretty happy. It wasn't a super-urgent need, and it wasn't relatively heavy, so I would have sacrificed a longer shipping time for reduced shipping price.

First cleaned the back of dryer. Loosened six (6) screws on the back side of the dryer. Took a picture of the connections then proceeded to pull all the connections Got the new timer and made all the connections. Put back & tightened all the screws . Set timer and dryer runs and heats great. Timer knob will not move and dryer keeps going until turned manually. Timer switch?
For model number WED4815EW1
Hello Billy, Thank you for the question. This would be an issue with the timer switch and it would need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Dryer is almost exclusively used in timed dry mode. It will usually stop when it gets to the cooldown portion of the cycle and the buzzer does not go off. Recently it has stopped heating in the timed dry mode, so I tried it in the automatic dry mode. It will heat in this mode but it still will not run until the buzzer goes off. The dryer stops spinning and heating prior to the end of the cycle in both auto and timed dry modes.
For model number wed4910xq0
Hello Leo,
Thanks for your question. With your symptoms described, it is recommended to replace the timer.
I hope this helps.

Dryer works fine but when you set the timer at 45 minutes at the end of 45 minutes the dial has not gone down to zero. Works but we have to use a kitchen timer to let us know when its done.
Hello James, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the timer switch, PartSelect Number: PS11749831. The defective timer may need to be replaced. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Heating element stays on won't shut off unless unplugged is the timer causing this?
For model number Medc215ew1
Hello Larry, thank you for your question. The most likely issue is either the Thermostat, Internal-Bias
Part Number: WP3387134, Thermal Cut-Off Kit Part Number: 279816 or the element itself. We would recommend testing the thermostats first to determine if they are faulty. Testing the thermosats is a very easy process. The wires leading to the thermostat are connected using metal slip on connectors. Remove the wires by pulling on the connectors, and not the wires themselves. It may be a good idea to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to help you. Set your multimeter to the R X 1 setting. Take each of your meter's probes and touch one to each terminal. You are testing for continuity, and you should receive a reading of either zero or infinity. At room temperature, testing the thermostat should produce a reading of zero. But if a thermostat is tested when it is heated to its limit, a reading of infinity should be produced. We strongly recommend that you test your thermostat at room temperature. If that isn't the issue you would want to replace the element. I hope this helps!

Dryer runs but no heat at first. Turn timer dial several times. Eventually the heat comes on. Is the timer the problem? All other parts check out with meter.
For model number CEDS832VQ1
Hello John, thank you for inquiring. If the Heating Element, part number PS334313, and the Thermal Fuse, part number PS11741460 for your model dryer are testing okay, you will want to consider replacing this Timer, part number PS11749831. Good luck with your repair!

Hi. My dryer has a intermittent heating problem. Sometimes it work normally, sometimes it start heating but stop before the cycle's end and sometimes it does not heat at all. I have already change all thermal switches and fuse but the problem still their. I did test the element for continuity and short to ground and it look ok. I think it could be the timer but i would like to have your opinion has this part is the most expensive to replace. Thanks for your help.
For model number Kenmore 110.c61102010
Hi Simon, we can't guarantee this would fix your symptoms but this is the most likely part. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

My dryer seems to work but it won't shut off auto. I have to turn it off manual so is the timer bad this dryer is only maybe a year old.
For model number Whirlpool WED4815EW1
Hello Steve, thank you for your question. The timer is a potential cause of this issue, but the more common part that causes this is the internal bias thermostat. We would recommend testing all the thermostats in the unit to check for continuity, but the most common cause of the dryer not shutting of automatically is the Thermostat, Internal-Bias Part Number: WP3387134. I would also recommend testing Thermal Fuse Part Number: WP3392519. I hope this helps!
