Remove the 2 bolts in the front. Remove water pump from back so you can easily remove hose coming from filter housing. Remove screw holding inlet water hose so it's free to move. Is this the housing and latch assembly that hold the refrigerator water filter ?

Looking for the door to the water filter on the bottom

Hello Adam, thank you for your question. The Water filter housing with access door, black is part number W10862460 and the Water filter housing with access door, gray is part number W10862461 and white is W10862456. Unfortunately, the door is not sold separately. The whole housing would have to be ordered to get the replacement door. Good luck with your repair!

It would be inserted into the refrigerator horizontally with the head where the water tubes are inserted pointed towards the left side as you are facing the refrigerator. What role does it play in supplying water or ice cubes?

Hello Jan, thank you for contacting us. This water filter housing, part number PS11759605, will fit your refrigerator. It holds the water filter and connects the water lines to the water filter. The housing directs water to the filter through its inlet nozzle and supplies clean water to the ice maker and dispenser through its outlet nozzle. If the water filter housing is clogged, the ice maker may become water deficient which can reduce the quality and quantity of ice production. We hope this information is useful!

Why are there multiple parts that are water filter housing for the same model # but some cost $10 more?

Hi, I replaced the water filter and now water dispenser does not work. When filter is removed the dispenser works. When old filter is reinstalled the dispenser still does not work. Is there a valve in the filter housing assembly? The filer part # I’m using is EDR1RXD1B. I’ve replaced this filter many times in the past with no issues.
