I’m having an intermittent draining problem with my dishwasher (e.25). The drain pump and impeller are clear and the motor spins freely. If i play with this drain cover it appears i can get the unit to drain. It also appears that if i remove this cover my unit will not drain. Is there a sensor that checks for this cover being in place? Could my issue be that sensor? Is this the turbidity sensor? Or is the all co-incidence and my controller unit is to blame. Draining fails often but i can always play with these parts in the sump to get it working flawlessly for a while. Frustrating. Thanks for any advice you have.

Hello Steve, thank you for inquiring. You will want to consider the Drain Pump itself, part PS8727352, this Lid part PS8727344, or possibly the Drain Hose part PS8732952. There doesn't appear to be a sensor involved. We hope this helps.

The user manual calls what you call a "lid" a "cover". I think that i ordered it correctly. I ordered the lid. It is very difficult to re-install and the dishwasher will not run unless it is properly installed. Is the lid the same as the cover that covers the drain pump impellers?

Hi Ray, thank you for your question. This part is actually pretty easy to remove. It is locked into place by a locking tab. All you have to do is take a flat head screw driver and pry it at the short tail that comes up the side of the filter housing. Once you have unclipped it from the locking tab all you have to do is lift the part out of place. This part slips down into your filter housing area there. So once you get it into place you would just push it into place and into the tab. Good luck with your repair.
