This is a hinge with roller for the oven door on your range. The roller allows you to open and close the door with ease and control. If your door is not opening easily, you may need to replace this part. To make this repair you will need a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Take note that this model is only for the right-hand side of your unit, to replace the left-hand side, see the related parts section. We recommend replacing both hinges at the same time.

The right side hinge assembly broke. Replaced both sides
First I removed the door by lifting it off the hinge assemblies.

Then I removed the drawer to access the spring.

Removed the spring, noting which attachment hole was used.

Removed the hinge assembly with a Phillips screwdriver.

Replacef the unit.

Repeated for the other hinge assembly.

Note: it took longer to find the correct parts in the parts diagrams than it did to replace them.

Take note that your appliance requires two hinges, one located on each side of the door. We recommend changing both at the same time. This model is made for the left side of your unit, if you are looking to purchase one for the right side see the related parts section below.

Broken Oven Door
This is an easy fix. Just before the holidays, it was imperative that this appliance be in top shape. Since the door 'hung' wrong, it was determined that the hinge pin broke. Remove the 2 phillips head screws on the door and open the door to the to a 15 degree opening. This position allows you to slip the door off the hinge levers. Now that the door is off, replace the hinge pin and slip the retainer ring on with a screw driver blade to push it on the pin. Slide the door back on the levers and fasten the retainer screws. DONE! Hinges were broken
Take the door off the oven by sliding out the old hinges that hold the door on to the oven. Put the door up on a protected table so that the hinges can hang down and free of the table. This step will make the job go much more simple. Proceed by removing all visable screws. Make a mental note on how the old hinges are held in and how the door comes apart. Take your time this is not a hard task! I am a homemaker, was taking care of my grandson that day and still accomplished the task in under an hour. The repair people wanted $145.00 labor only to install this part! Read more...

Oven door would not close completely
Open door 1/4 an slide the little latches on each hinge toward you. This will lock them in place. Close the door a little and lift it up. The door will slide out. Lay it face down on a table and undo all the screws. Do not remove the glass, frame etc. Slide old hinge out and new one in being careful not to slide the glass and frame out of alignment. It is a pain to get it all back together if you take every part out. Just do the hinges. Screw it back together. Reverse the door removal process by lowering the hinges into the oven receiver from a 75% closed position. Once in place, open the oven about halfway and slide the locks forward. This will allow the door to close completely. Note: Three hinges came with my set. Not sure what the third odd one is for. Read more...

I was trying to remove the oven door so I could clean the glass. Spills had run down between the layers of glass.
This oven probably was manufactured in the '60s when the house was built. The door doesn't just pull off like the newer models. These pins fit into small holes on the oven hinges. I inserted the pins and lifted the door to a 45 degree angle, before pulling the door completely off. Now that turned out to be the easy part. I then proceeded to completely dismantle the door. It actually has 4 glass layers which had to be cleaned individually. The hardest part of all was actually remembering how to put it back together again. I put the door back on just as I had removed it, then took out the pins, and I was finally done! This was not an easy project, BUT the results look great. Read more...

Both hinges were bent, probably from dropping the door, or leaning on it when it was in the down position.
1st; I opened the door, 2nd; removed the keepers that prevent the door from coming unhinged. 3rd; placed 2 short screws in the holes in the hinges. 4th; raised the door until it stopped. 5th; lifted the door upward and slid the hinges out of the slots in the range. 6th; laid the door face up on a microwave stand. With a handle on the outside, and hinges sticking out of the inside, it was inpossible to lay the door flat on a larger surface, and get around it. 7th; removed 2 screws from the inside top, and the 8 screws from the very bottom. 8th; removed the bottom rail, and the handle assembly. From there everything was stacked pieces. Picked the glass front up, and carefully set it safely aside. Picked each piece up and cleaned it, and started the re-assembly. The hardest part of the process was getting the fiberglass rope around the inside glass, to stay in place during the initial re-assembly. From there, the assembly was just the reverse order. the process was about 1 hour and 20 minutes, due to lack instructions and practice, plus cleaning, finding screws, and tools, Instructions may have been on line, but I didn't find them. The new hinges came with pins in place, and should have come with an extra set to lock the old hinges. Read more...
