Breaker for dryer kept tripping out
The 5-cycle timer eventually failed on our Amana dryer and these were the symptoms leading up to the failure. First symptom was the timer would emit a squeak or squeal when the timer knob was pushed in. Then more recently the panel breaker kept tripping out. I shut the breaker off, pulled the plug, and dismantled the dryer panel to look at the timer. No noticeable fault or failure. Took a chance, ordered the replacement timer from PartSelect, and before installing wrote all the model and other numbers off both the old and new timers. They matched (Model 275 BEF) & (Kingston Model 275). Pulled the wire tabs one at a time off the old timer, and pushed onto same tab on new timer. Re-assembled the panel, plugged in the dryer, and turned the breaker on. Put the dryer through a few test drying cycles and it ran like new. The timer was a perfect fit and replacement, and all problems were eliminated. Runs like new!
