Fan is working, freezer is ice cold, but inside fridge is warm. Turning up cold setting does not keep milk/juice any colder. Coils cleaned yesterday. Any ideas on what part(s) may need replacement?
For model number ABB2224BRW00
Hello John, thank you for reaching out to us. We would recommend checking the damper control assembly, part number PS11750106. The damper controls the cold airflow from the freezer compartment into the refrigerator compartment. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair.
can I clean the drip pan? I have an odor and I have cleaned all the inside and the bottom freezer
For model number ABB2224BRW00
Hello Carol, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can clean the drip pan. You first need to turn off the power and water supply to the refrigerator. The pan has or may still have two pieces of tape that hold it in place and to remove the first one, you need to access the back of the refrigerator, remove the panel with a nut driver, then disconnect the water inlet valve (using a towel to catch any drips) by pressing on the tube releases with a flat wrench. Then use a knife to cut the first strip of tape. Now go around to the front of the refrigerator, and remove the kick plate by pressing the locking tabs on each side. Use a nut driver to remove the water filter housing, and you should now be able to access the other end of the drip pan to remove the tape and pull it out to clean it. We have included a link to our video for a similar part to give you an idea of how to access it. We hope this helps you.

The lights do not come on inside the refrigerator when the door is opened. I have replaced both bulbs, but that made no difference. Any suggestions on what else to check?
For model number ABB2224BRW00
Hi Adrian,
Thank you for your question. If you have just replaced the light bulbs and the lights are still not coming on inside the refrigerator when you open the door, you will need to check both the door switch and the light socket with a multi-meter to see which part is causing the issue. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Having seen this problem before in other equipment so I had an idea where to look. Problem: the automatic defrost function was not operating. Looking through openings in the back panel of the freezer compartment, you could see the evaporator coils and fins were a solid chuck of ice. There are three logical components to check. Heater
... Read moreelement, thermostat (located just above the evaporator) and a relay on the control board (located in the fridge control panel). Checked the heater with an ohm meter -- OK. The thermostat closes the circuit at around 20 degrees and opens at around 32 degrees. Pulled out the thermostat, wiring, fan unit. Everything unplugs, unscrews, and unclips, don't cut wires. Put the whole assembly in a friends freezer for an hour or so to see if the thermostat closes -- OK. Problem had to be with the control board. Replaced control board, reprogrammed it per included instruction. Everything is working again.
The hard part for me was figuring out which part was causing the problem. I read what others had done and followed their test methods. I checked the defroster heater for continuity and the defroster thermostat to make sure it was closing. the defroster termostat has to be cold to check it. You will need to check it while it is in ice or t
... Read moreake it out and put it in another freezer for 30 mins and then check it for continuity. Those items checked out ok so it had to be the control board. The control board is a 5 min job to replace but making sure that is your problem is the hard part. I think the control board was bad due to a power surge we had when the power went out and came back on. It might be a good idea to put a surge protector on your home to protect your fridge and all your other electronic stuff. Our refrigerator is now working like new again. Thank you for all your help, Jim
