The top screen of the lint basket just disappeared. I can only assume it is stuck in the vent. Big problem. Is this a defect?. Why would a screen separate from the basket?
For model number GFD65GSSN1WW
Hi Donna, thanks for reaching out to us. It is possible the lint filter in your dryer was defective, as those screens should not actually separate from the basket. The screen probably did get sucked into the vent and will need to be removed to prevent the vent from clogging. You will need to replace the incomplete lint filter with a new one to fix it, we do not sell the screens individually, unfortunately. If you are looking to purchase this part then you can do so by either adding it to your cart and going through the checkout process online, or by calling our customer service line and ordering with one of our agents. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Loud banging/thumping noise when dryer was running. Bearings on tub rollers worn out. Poor design.
Could tell from the sound it was making that it was related to drum rotation. Searched online videos on how to disassemble this model GE Dryer. The Dryer drum rides on 4 rollers. 2 of the 4 of mine were very noticeably loose and made a similar noise when I spun them by hand. Simply replace the rollers and re-assembled.
