My dryer turns on but will not spin what could the problem be?
For model number GFDR480EF1WW
Hello Ashley, thank you for your question. We would recommend checking the belt to see if it has broken, and if it is intact test the motor and thermostats in the unit, as well as the door switch. I hope this helps!

We have replaced the belt and all 4 roller wheels. Now we need to replace the motor, will we need to order new clips for the motor?
For model number GFDR480EF1WW
Hello Cheryl, thank you for the question. The drive motor compatible with your model is part number PS11774536. We recommend checking the old clips; if they are broken or not compatible with the new motor size, you may need to replace them with the clip resilient mount, part number PS8767548. We hope this information helps!

Common Symptoms of the GFDR480EF1WW
[Viewing 1 of 1]Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Loud banging/thumping noise when dryer was running. Bearings on tub rollers worn out. Poor design.
Could tell from the sound it was making that it was related to drum rotation. Searched online videos on how to disassemble this model GE Dryer. The Dryer drum rides on 4 rollers. 2 of the 4 of mine were very noticeably loose and made a similar noise when I spun them by hand. Simply replace the rollers and re-assembled.

After much use the screen eventually wears out from the heat and it tears
Just have to pull out the old screen assembly from the dryer slot and install the new one.
