2nd request for answer---the lint filter red light came on and the dryer (about 1 year old) will not start. It was clean but i cleaned it again still red light and no action. What next.
For model number MED5500FW0
Hi Jack. Sadly it looks like it could be a problem with the control board. Power-cycle your dryer and if this is still happening the board might need to be replaced. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair.

which way does the fan motor turn to come off, i can seem to get it to budge
For model number MED5500FW0
Hello Jeff, thank you for your inquiry. The part that you are referring to is the blower wheel. It blows air through the drum and out through the exhaust vent. You can easily replace the blower wheel by using the following instructions:
1. Turn off the dryer.
2. Remove the top panel.
3. Remove the control panel.
4. Remove the front panel.
5. Remove the top brace above the drum and dislocate the bulkhead.
6. Remove the drum.
7. Remove the blower cover and use socket wrench to remove the screw holding the blower wheel.
8. Turn the screw counter-clockwise to remove.
We hope this helps!

what causes the dryer to work but no heat to dry clothes
For model number MED5500FW0
Hi Sandy,
Thank you for your question. If the dryer is not heating, we recommend checking the heating element and the internal bias thermostat. Before removing and checking these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see if they are operating normally, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. If you receive a reading of infinity for the heating element, it will need to be replaced. When testing the internal bias thermostat, you should receive a reading of 10Kohms (10,000 ohms) of resistance at room temperature. It can tolerate 10% fluctuation. If your reading indicates the part is defective, it will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
