Refrigerator side freezing foods is the symptom
For model number RF28HFEDBSR
Good Day Mark. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number RF28HFEDBSR). Based on our research we have found the following information that may solve the issue that you are having: 1) Check if the set temperature on the digital display is too low. 2) Try setting the refrigerator to a warmer temperature. 3) Is the temperature in the room too low? Set the refrigerator warmer. 4) Did you store the food which is juicy in the coldest part of the refrigerator? 5) Try moving those items to the other shelves in the fridge instead of keeping them in the colder areas or bins. Hope this helps. Best Regards.

The freezer has quit. What is the possible problem and is worth fixing?
For model number RF28HFEDBSR
Hello Alan, thank you for your question. There could be a few reasons why your freezer isn’t freezing. First check that the vents inside are not blocked with food. Then check that your condenser coils are not dirty. To test the evaporator fan, set the fan on a benchtop and locate the two power terminals, which is where the wires connect to the fan coil. Touch one of the tester leads to one terminal and the other lead to the other terminal and check the reading. If you get a low resistance reading, which is anything less than about 100 O, the charge generated by the tester is circulating normally and the coil is good. If you get a very high or infinite resistance reading (which is denoted by OL on a digital meter), there's a break somewhere, meaning the coil is bad and the fan needs to be replaced. Part number PS4138376. If the evaporator fan is good, we recommend replacing the start relay. Part number PS4176153. We hope this helps. If you need help placing an order, our customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Evaporator frozen (refrigrator section) and allowing top section to lose cooling
This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. I first changed out the defrost thermostat and this did not correct the problem. I done a quick resistance check on the temp sensor that's mounted on the evaporator itself. The resistance would change w

hen holding an ice cube on the sensor so I just assumed it was ok. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.
