Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This GE appliance part is a black freezer door gasket ideal for maintaining optimum temperature in your freezer compartment. The gasket creates a solid seal around the door, staving off warm air and ensuring the cool environment within is preserved. It features a user-friendly design allowing for it to be easily manipulated into smooth folds and creases by warmth. Essentially, you can soak it in warm water or warm it with a low setting on a hair dryer for an effortless fit. Keep in mind to safely store food items that could spoil during the sealing process. Ideal for GE DG 25 models, this gasket speaks to GE's commitment to quality replacement parts for your appliances.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Part is perfect unable to adjust door so new seal can seal!
The part was perfect after unpacking and letting it re conform to its natural form! I have a problem adjusting the lower hinge. The gap between the door and the main body is 5/8" wide at top and 7/8" wide at the bottom . The bottom angle hinge bracket is not adjustable so as to reduce bottom gap to 5/8" or slightly less. Bottom bracket may have been machined out of tolerance to the plastic pivot pin area. This condition therefore does not allow door gasket to seal to the lower 1/3 of the door in the hinge area and also at the bottom. Please respond with a suggested fix. This unit is in excellent condition otherwise!

Great part and material, takes about a day to form a seal around the edges.
The Part is in good condition and arrived earlier than expected. Just need to work on the gasket to form a seal around the edges. After a day I am thankful my appliance is back in working order.

Worn freezer door gasket
Ordered and received the correct part from Partselect. Start on top corner and pried the gasket loose. Once loose, just pulled out. Next I cleaned the door and cabinet surfaces. I then dried new gasket after 2 hour soak in hot tub. Press top corners in place. Move to the bottom and do the same and then work the sides in. Smear a thin coat

The freezer gasket part listed is shown on the GE site with an image which is obviously the wrong part (2 square corners on one end, and a rounded edge on the other end). On the GE site there is a review from someone who said this is the wrong part. GE insists it is correct; but i can see by looking that my gasket has 4 square corners, so this part will not fit if the picture on the GE site is correct. Help!

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your inquiry. Your original gasket was discontinued by the manufacturer. This is the replacement gasket for your appliance. It should fit. This is the only one available for your model. Good luck with your repair.

My freezer door pops open every time i get ice or open or close fridge door. Would a new freezer door gasket remedy this or do you have a suggestion on what the problem is and how to fix it
For model number GSS25GFXABB
Hi Douglas,
Thank you for your question. It could be your gasket. I would suggest also just making sure your appliance is completely level. You might also want to take a look at the bottom hinge and the cams there. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My freezer keeps getting ice on the bottom and eventually leaking out, as it pushes the door to be cracked. I don't know if I need to just try defrosting or if it is a seal etc... any insights?
For model number hsm25gfra sa
Hello Colten, thank you for your inquiry! Our research indicates that the issue is probably with the Defrost Thermostat, part number PS1017716. If that is not the problem or if you have already fixed that, then the problem would be related to the Temperature Sensor, part number PS304103.
