Ice Dispenser not working properly
The ice dispenser would not dispense cubes. It only dispensed crushed ice. Also the plastic auger was partially broken and it took forever for ice to be dispensed. The auger was easy to figure out that it was broken. The dispenser issue took some time. I removed the ice bin and removed the panel behind it. There was a solenoid that

Pretty simple to fix once I knew what the problem was. I could have gotten the parts cheaper from Searsparts.com but their description of parts and their pictures did not match and I wanted to make sure I got the right parts the first time. To be on the safe side I ordered a couple of pins and used one of them. The pin was a little hard to remove from the existing assemble so I put it in a vice and used a small pick and hammered out the old pin.

When the activator lever in the door of this side by side refrigerator is pushed to get ice a very loud noise is made. Too loud to talk over, this is not a hum. Having removed the ice bin (full of ice) i activated the lever and i could see that behind a panel, which is directly behind the bin, a part goes up when the very loud noise is made. This appears to be the means by which the door to the ice maker opens. I suspect that the defective part is a solenoid or similar part that is struggling to raise that part when activated. I believe that part is the ps11737122 which is called an armature. Could i be correct? Thanks,

For model number ps123mgnabb
Hi Trant,
Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not dispensing ice, the issue is likely the dispenser door solenoid assembly, part number PS1483583. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the dispenser door assembly/flapper, the ice maker, the dispenser crusher motor, the recess door spring, the dispenser door recess crank and the electronic control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

the water dispenser no longer dispenses water. I replaced the filter because it was running slowly and as soon as i replced the filter i get no water at all.
For model number GSS22KGPAWW
Hello George, thank you for contacting us. We recommend you fill the filter with water before installing it so there is no airlock in the supply lines. Arrow should be in front of you when installing the filter then rotate it counterclockwise. If this does not solve the issue check the water supply lines for any blockages or clogs. If the supply lines are okay, you may need to replace the inlet valve, part number PS12727276. We hope this helps.
