Replaced the solenoid-operated water inlet control valve on 2006 Amana Washer
The PartSelect video was excellent and very helpful. This replacement took extra time because the washer was located in a tight space and moving/lack of access to the rear of the washer created several issues. Tips based on my experience: 1) I used a MasterLock ratchet tie-down to secure the lid when raising the hinged top of the was
... Read moreher (I wasn't able to lean and support this against a wall as demonstrated in the install video). 2) The fill hose that connects to the water valve was difficult to remove and I needed two large-jaw adjustable pliers to do this. A small amount of Dawn dishwasher detergent applied to the inside of the hose made re-assembly quick and easy. 3) A set-screw holds the valve in place. Easy to remove but because I couldn't get in back of the washer, I had to measure from the bottom of the valve to line-up the screw with the hole in the valve assembly to mount the new unit (this wouldn't be a problem if you could see where the screw goes but I couldn't get in back of the washer for this simple final step). Very pleased with finished result - just needed some extra time and additional tools.

A slow drip into the wash tub while the washer was not running
I followed the instructions in the video on the parts select web site. It was very easy, and went exactly as shown on the video. The part was ~$80. I am sure a repair person would have charged me ~$200 for the repair.

No cold water only hot water filled the machine
The existing plastic valve is different in size and shape from the replacement part. The existing plastic valve is mounted to a metal mounting braket with bunch of screws. New replacement part has no mounting braket and can't be mounted to the old mounting braket. The old mounting bracket had 2 screws which are used to mount it to the was

We replaced the valve in the washer that feeds the hot and cold water to the wash/rinse cycles. The replacement was not simple only because you have limited space to work in as the back of the machine does not come off other than a small door in the back or by removing the top. We elected to work in the small space but were able to repl

Water dripping from flume filled basin
I used a screwdriver to release the front side of the waaher top from the clips and tilted the washer top back. I then released the hose from the water valve and took out the mounting screws at the back. Replaced the valve and hooked everything back up.

My husband did the repair quickly and problem solved. The only difficulty was that the water valve was in a tight spot. Overall, if you are mechanically inclined and have the right tools this is do it yourself project.

When i start to fill my machine. It begins to leak water from the bottom. I'm pretty sure it's one the right side this is happening.. would this be a seel issue? and if so is this a diy fix?
For model number MAV208DAWW
Good Day William. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number MAV208DAWW). Based on our research, this may be the result of damaged or missing gaskets, seals or washers around the inlet hose. We would recommend checking around this area to see if this is the case and if so, replace these parts as necessary. We hope this helps. Best Regards.

I took this machine from my girlfriend's house after she noticed water on the floor. She want a new one anyway, so i bought her one and took the old one for a rental apartment. I hooked it up at home to test it and look for a leak. When i started it, the water would flow into the tub, but would come out of the drain hose, so the tub would never fill. I ran it through the spin cycle and tried again, but the same thing happened. From your other information on your website, it looks like it might be the water valve, but is here anyway to check before buying a new part? And could it be something else entirely? I appreciate any help you can give.
For model number PAV3240AWW
Hello Mike, thank you for your question. The water inlet valve brings water into the unit. If the washer is filling and then draining at the same time it sounds like the issue is with the drain pump itself. I would recommend replacing the drain pump. I hope this helps!

Our machine will fill and run on the wash cycle and then drain. Once it gets to rinse, the machine will make a buzzing noise but will not fill with water...no water comes out. If I cycle past rinse to spin, the machine will start spinning. So basically it just isn't filling during the rinse cycle. Checking to see what part that might be before I purchase anything. I read online it could be the timer unit which I think was around $150.
For model number PAVT910AWW
Hi Matthew, Thank you for the question. If you can manually skip the cycle and the next cycle works, the timer will need to be replaced. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

When my clothes begin to rest in the barrel, it spins, water continues to shoot out after the clothes have finished spinning. They are still wet, too wet to put in the dryer. I wonder what could be the problem?
For model number NAV5805AWW
Hi Terry,
Thank you for your question. If the clothes are still soaking wet after a wash cycle has completed, it is possible that the clothes in the washer were not in balance and some water remained in the tub. You will need to check the drain hose to see if there is a blockage and to make certain it is not bent. Check the drain pump for any debris and make certain that the belt is not stretched or damaged. Also, check the direct drive motor coupling to make sure it is not damaged. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Water is still dripping into the tub while in spin cycle. Feels to be cold water. Bad fill valve?
For model number PAVT234AWW
Hi Ricky,
Thank you for your question. That would be my first thought as well. You can usually test the valve with a multi meter to check. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

my Maytag washer sometimes has a small water drip inside the tank when not in used. Then other times no drip?
thank you
For model number MAV2757AWW
Hello Frank, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, this is usually caused by an issue with the water inlet valve, which you can test with a multimeter, on Rx1 mode, place the probes onto the valve’s terminals. The reading you should receive varies from model to model, refer to your owner’s manual for what the reading for a functioning valve should be. Good luck with your repair.
Hot water dripping very power than few months ago. I read in your web page than probably is the water valve. Do you think is that, i want make sure before but it because is not too cheap. I'm your customer, thanks for your videos
For model number CAV2004AWW
Hello Christian, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the water inlet valve with a multimeter to see if it is causing the issue. Hope this helps!

The washer will start filling for the wash cycle, then proceed to the actual wash cycle, then to the spin cycle. Then, when it starts to fill for the rinse cycle, it trips the gfci receptacle. I have tried to run it to another outlet and does the same thing. I let it sit for 30-60 minutes with the lid open, and it will start again with no problems, as if something is getting wet that is not supposed to be. Could this be some kind of electrical issue?
For model number HAV2557AWW
Hello Michael, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to consider checking and possibly replacing either the Water Valve part PS11738838 or the Timer part PS11738818 for your model. We hope this helps.
