thermostat will not fit the thermostat bracket.
I had to cut a portion of the bracket out to make room for its over length and electrical blades location. There was no instructions. Kenmore on line instructions were some what close but totally wrong pics. But its in and working.
would stay in defrost mode for a long time, inside refrigerator would get warm.
Repair went fine, no problems, had to wait for fan and compressor to come on. New defrost timer must of been in defrost mode, came on in about 30 minutes and is working fine, should get a few more years out of it.

My freezer is cold but will not freeze ice cream, fridge is fine
For model number KBRC36MHS01
Hello Lisa, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Defrost Timer Kit, PartSelect Number PS11739056. This device acts like a clock. It continually advances and alternates between activating the cooling cycle and the defrost heater. You can test the timer with a multi meter to check for its continuity. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

My freezer is cold but the refrigerator is not?
For model number KBRS21KDL00
Hello Thomas, thank you for writing. If your refrigerator is not cooling properly, there are a few parts you will need to check. You will need to check the defrost timer, the condenser fan motor kit, the capacitor, the evaporator fan motor kit, the cold control thermostat, the fresh food door gasket, the start relay cover and the light rocker switch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Experiencing excessive moisture dripping (puddling) on the bottom freezer side of the unit and well to the left of the drip pan. The evaporator coils in freezer are covered in a significant amount of frost, could this defrost timer be the problem? And should there even be frost on the coils? Thanks!
For model number KSSC42MHS00
Hi Earl, thank you for your question. That would be one of the parts I would suggest checking for sure. The other two parts I would suggest taking a look at would be your defrost thermostat and your defrost heater. There actually should be no frost on your coils because that will restrict air flow and then your appliance will eventually stop getting as cold as it should be. You can test all of those parts with a multi meter to determine whether or not they are working correctly. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
How to access the defrost timer, to be able to replace it. While I see the turning knob of the defrost timers ticking out of the metal cover. but the condenser and fan ..etc are all encased in the same box. is there a video or an instruction manual that shows how to remove the cover ? Thank you.
For model number KSSS48MDX05
Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. We have included a link to some of our videos that show how to access the timer. We hope this helps.
Hello Richard, thank you for contacting us. You can simply reset the defrost timer by unplugging your refrigerator for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. We hope this helps!
