Replacing broken refrigerator crisper frame.
I followed the video provided by PartsSelect and it was very good with almost every step you take. Pay particular attention to how the demonstrator stands relative to the frame and things will go a bit easier. There is one thing the video fails to do well and that is show you how the metal U-shaped rod is extracted. At best, the close-up
... Read moregives you a clue rather than a sense of what is done and the verbal explanation of what it is you are trying to do with the screwdriver blade is unfortunately not detailed enough. I experimented as best I could with varying degrees of force and various positions but was taken by surprise when the rod suddenly was free and slid half-way out of the old frame. I still am not clear in my own mind what I did to free it, though I have my suspicions ;). Other than that step, the video took me through everything smoothly. One key - save everything from your old frame, you'll need it all!
Pulled out broken parts and snapped/ pushed into place new ladder hooks 15 min max

Caused the shelf on my fridge to break a ladder hook. I didn't even know where to begin looking for an Amana refrigerator shelf mount bracket, but luckily found this website from a Google search. Ladder hooks and center crisper rail broken
I removed the crisper drawers, glass shelf, and frame assembly to install the ladder hook. Before reinstalling the glass shelf on top of the crisper frame, I installed the center crisper rail. Thank goodness for websites like this!
This was a very easy repair job! I just needed to remove the drawers and shelving, put the new ladder hook on, and repace the shelving and drawers. It took longer to remove the items from the fridge, then it did to replace the ladder hook.

Plastic ladder hook holding up bottom shelf broke. Also refrigerator handle was loose.
Had to remove vegetable storage bins and all items on the bottom shelf as well as bottom shelf. Rest was easy. Had to pry off metal cap on handle to get to screw to tighten handle. Replacement cap just snapped in easily.
P.S. since shipping was so high for these inexpensive parts I ordered three of each just in case!
