Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This inner door glass is used in ranges. It creates a transparent heat barrier inside your oven door. For this installment, the only tool needed is a #2 Phillips screwdriver. To repair, first remove the oven door from the range by lifting and pulling from the bottom of the hinges. To dissemble the door, you will need to remove the screws on the outer edge and remove the side pieces. There are also screws towards the middle that need to be removed to pull out the bottom trim. Next, lay the door on its back and slide outer door glass off and remove top trim. For the rest of the installation instructions refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer. Pro tip: remember to wait until the surface is cool before starting this repair project.

The glass came in on time and in perfect condition. The video of "how to" replace it was excellent. I don't know if I could have done it as easily without the video. The only difficult part was the last set of screws which were very difficult to loosen and remove. I sent a question to your your technical people and hope to get an answer soon. Thanks.

REPLACE INNER GLASS ON OVEN DOOR on KITCHENAID SUPERBA RANGE
There are already good instructions here on doing the repair, so I will just add what I found important. 1) using penetrating oil and an impact wrench on the screws that hold the inner glass to the inside of the oven door - they were rusted tight. 2) the outside glass front sits on the front of the door, on top of the edges of the side pi

The video on removing the oven door that matched the kind of hinges I had showed taking them off the door as part of disassembly of the door. I didn't find that necessary at all, and you probably won't either. Less parts to have to get back in place. The hard part to me was finding the correct disassembly video to match the oddball hinges, which isn't to say it's a bad design - actually it seems better that the other more common designs. Take out the two screws above where the hinges enter the range, and lift the door up, away from the range, and off. Easy peasy.

Interior glass broke when broiler pan was left in oven during cleaning
Read all others' directions and suggestions. Screw loosening spray was essential to remove the bracket holding the broken piece. Print out the blow-up showing parts from website. Removing layers, being careful to keep them in order and turned the right way. Note the center piece of glass is held in place only by the parts around it so everything has to be tight and aligned. Put back together in reverse order with replacement glass part. My 10+ year old oven is as good as new. BTW I am a 67 year old woman.

replaced inner glass that cracked when some cool water was drizzled on it accidentally
The easy part is removing the oven door and reinserting the oven door. Disassembly of the door was straight forward enough by removing the screws from the attached bottom plates. Separating the inner door from the out door was quite the pain. Once accomplished I was surprised to learn that the outer glass pane was not attached but free f

Getting this back into place then laying the free floating glass pane and keeping it positioned prior to re assembly of the inner and outter door was a tad nightmarish. The actual removal of the brackets to remove the inner broken glass plane was very easy. This is where a good drill or power screw driver comes in handy. Once the brackets holding the glass were removed, you take the broken glass out, put the new in, then reattach that glass pane with the brackets.Hat's off to those who did this whole project in 1/2 hr or less. It was a solid 2.5 hrs of time for me and my wife and I can't say that we drew closer together on this project. Actually a wall of separation started to develop between us until with God's help we finally got the whole door back together and in the oven. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might when you start to take on this project. Amen

Broken inner oven door glass
This worked very well, thanks to the advice posted from other users. The only part that was a bit unclear was removing the door. There are small, slotted metal pieces screwed into the sides of the oven to hold the door hinges in the slots. After removing those, I had to hold the door and push it up and down, and a little bit side to si

The hinges are on springs, so they do snap up when they come out of the slots in the sides of the oven. But they only snap to a 90 degree angle, so they won't cut your fingers off. You'd have to hold your fingers right on them to even get pinched. After that, I just kept taking screws out of the door until I got through to the back panel, replaced it, and put it all back together.

Glass on oven door broke during self cleaning how can I tell which glass it is. Inner or outer
For model number Kerc500hwh3
Hi Dennis, Thank you for the question, You should be able to tell by looking at the broken glass. When the door is closed, the glass on the outside of the door you see first is the outer glass, if it is broken it will need to be replaced. With the door open the glass on the inside of the door that you can touch, would be the inner door glass. If this glass is broken it will need to be replaced. The glass that is between the outer and inner glass is also considered the inner door glass. Hope this helps!

I looked up the part number that i need for the inner door glass, and ordered this but it doesn't fit. The dimensions of what i need are about 18x7 inches (this is 18.26x12.75). Looking at the video, the door is not the same. The inner glass on my oven is smaller than the one in the video. That is the outer glass and inner glass are not the same size on mine. My model number: Ykers507dq1 serial: Imf0215627. I called KitchenAid, and they gave me this same wrong part number. Are you able to search to see if there's another product with glass the dimensions i need? Thanks in advance.
