Oven not getting hot enough
Turn off oven circuit breakers. Removed builtin double unit out from enclosure to access the back. Remove sheet metal covers to expose heating element electrical connections. Double Broiler element on top should read about 33 ohms and 56 ohms. One was open so it needed replacement. Bottom hidden element should read 28 ohms. It was ope
... Read moren. Remove broiler element screws and replace it from the front. The hidden bottom element is difficult to get at. Remove 4 screws holding up a pan with insulation. Bend it down. Using scissors I cut a long slot through the insulation to access two center screws holding the element to a long metal strip and 4 screws holding this strip to the oven frame. The screws were tight, don't strip the heads. My element was broken and distorted, so little by little you coax it out the back. Attach the mounting strip to the new element with 2 screws and slide it back in. Then reattach the mounting bracket to the frame with the 4 screws. Easier said than done..... New elements fit perfect and worked good.
The existing bake element was charred and in pieces so could not be pulled out. We destructively disassembled the range and pulled out the pieces along with the melted insulation. The wall behind was also scorched.

Corroded bake element
Pull it away from the wall and take everything off the back. Unscrew the element cover, cut through the insulation and remove the part. Not easy, watch for sharp sheet metal edges

The bake element for this model is not inside the oven. Where is the access for this hidden bake element? I'm assuming it's in the back. Can you explain how to access and change the element. Please do not provide a link to the same video - it's not applicable to this model. Thank you.
For model number KESS907SSS04
Hi Greg, Thank you for the question. For the hidden element, you will need to pull the appliance out from the wall to access it from the back. Hope this helps!

Do you have instructions on installation of part w10207398 for the model kdss907sss05 ?
For model number KDSS907SSS05
Hello Jimmy, Thank you for the question. You will need to pull the appliance out from the wall to access the panel on the back of the appliance. Once the panel is removed you will need to move the insulation away and bend down a tin panel that covers the back of the element. Remove the wire connectors and element and reverse the steps to reinstall. Hope this helps!

I am trying to replace the bottom hidden bake element on my KitchenAid oven and cannot for the life of me figure out how i am suppose to get it out. I have pull a few covers off the back and found the 2 element prongs sticking out the back and disconnected the wires. I move some of the insulation out of the way exposing 2 screws apparently holding it in. But now it will not come out any further and i am wondering if it is suppose to come out the front or the rear of the oven somehow. The video you keep listing to help people does not apply to this particular model.

Is there a video available to replace the bake element for this model ?

I have a KitchenAid model# KEBK206SBL04 serial number D14312624. Does this stove have a bottom element? The upper stove seems to not heat up properly. When cooking a pizza, the bottom doesn't get cooked, and the top usually gets burnt. If there is a hidden bottom element, I may have to replace it. If there is a bottom element is it difficult to replace it?
Thanks,
Russell

Hello Russell, thank you for reaching out. We believe your oven is having this problem because the bake element may be faulty. To access the bake element, you will need to pull the appliance out from the wall to access the panel on the back of the appliance. Once the panel is removed you will need to move the insulation away and bend down a tin panel that covers the back of the element. Remove the wire connectors and element and reverse the steps to reinstall. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
