Leaky boot
My item was not in stock but once it came in it was shipped overnight. Genuine Whirlpool washer boot. I’m a female in my early fifties and this was a very straightforward and easy job. It was tricky at the end replacing the spring loop that secures the boot to the front door panel but my son helped stretch it just enough to get it into place, everything else I could easily do myself. The boot fit perfectly, matched the original boot exactly except the color which is a much nicer darker grey than my original light grey. The water outlet and washer light lined up exactly. Very high quality item. I saved a lot ordering and installing myself.

part matched OE part. Needed just a little help with installing it
The part matched OE except for the color. After watching videos on how to install a baffle on my Maytag Front Load washer, I was able to do it myself with the exception of the wire band which holds the baffle in place. Also, I did not need to remove all the covers and panels and disconnect the door latch to do it as the video explained. I could replace within space of the open door.
The only problem I am having now is, not all the water drains through the holes in the front lip of the baffle, just inside the door. I must pull up on the baffle to allow the small collection of water drain. I don't know if this will improve as the new baffle breaks in. Not a major concern yet.

Can that rubber door boot be removed, cleaned around and put back in?
For model number MHW5500FW1
Hello Chris, Thank you for contacting us. It can be, you would just need to pull it out slightly, release the clamp with a flat blade screw driver and pull it out the rest of the way. It can be cleaned with a solution of hot soapy water. We have included a link to one of our videos to show you how to remove and install the door boot seal. We hope this helps.

I have a leak I can't find the origin. There is no water on the floor, just in the attached drawer under the washer unit. And there is no leakage sign under the washer. And no leakage from the drain and from the water source. Where could it be coming from? The front door?
For model number MHW5500FC1
Hi Denis,
Thank you for your question. If water is leaking from the washer, check the hoses attached to the pump to make sure that the clamps are fastened securely. Also, check the inlet hoses to make sure that they are fastened securely and inspect them for signs of cracks and any other damage. If there are no visible signs of damage, inspect the door gasket to see if it is damaged or worn. We hope this helps!
