Removed and Replaced Ice Maker
Removed the cover to ice maker. Removed with 1/4 inch socket and the extension, the 2 Nutscrews holding the ice unit in place by bending down the plastic cross piece in front of the screws. Finally squeezing the electrical cover case to remove from the rear wall to get to the Electrical plug connection. Once cover away from the wall and

I replaced the icemaker on my side by side Whirlpool gold fridge with a new icemaker. It made 2 batches of small ice cubes and quit. What could be the problem
Hi Eric, thank you for your question. There are two parts that you should check for this issue. The first part to test would be your water inlet valve. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. If that part is testing correctly then you should look into your ice maker being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My ice maker stopped making ice. I disassembled the door and there was ice in the tray, so i broke that up and removed it to ensure it wasn’t jammed. Still doesn’t work. Is replacing the assembly the next easiest step? Is there any way to test the thermostat?
For model number Ksf26c4xyy01
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your question. Yes you can test your thermostat with a multi meter to determine whether or not it is working correctly. You might have to take a look at your ice maker being the problem as well. It could be that the ice build up burnt out the motor or broke something else on your ice maker. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hi, the ice maker stopped making ice (all of a sudden). When i press the dispense button/arm you can hear the regular noise like its dispensing ice but no ice is being produced. The cold water dispenser is working fine. Which part do i need to replace? Thanks!
For model number GSS30C6EYY01
Hello Hershel,
Thank you for your question. Our sources suggest that the ice maker assembly under part PS11751133 for your model would need to be replaced to fix the ice maker issues with it producing ice. We hope this helps.

Looking for a replace water supply valve going to the icemaker. Icemaker part if WPW10251076, but it appears that the water supply valve is separate.
Water to icemaker turns on but won't turn off, so it floods the freezer (and kitchen floor). Turned out the entire water supply to the refrigerator as a temporary solution. But would like to get the icemaker working again.
