Exact replacement part
The timer fixed an issue I was having with the time dry not working, but also the sensor dry. In looking at this product, the timer was not listed as a solution to my problem, but I’d already changed the heat sensor and the timer seemed like the next probable culprit. The timer was extremely easy to replace and was an exact number match to the timer in the dryer. If you need to replace a timer, look at the numbers on the current timer and get an exact match. My wife ordered another timer that the internet said would work with our dryer and it wasn’t anywhere close to the right part. In short, this timer is easy to install, fixed my issues, and works perfectly!

Easy to install. Works and dryer running fine. Saved a couple of hundred dollars. GE charges $100.00 to walk in the door plus labor and parts charge.
Packed very well for transit. Part has expected. Dryer running correctly. Happy customer.

In stock, seamless, painless!
Timer was a perfect match. Easy, wire clip to wire clip replacement took 15 - 20 minutes overall. Toughest part was due to not having the proper tool to compress the manufacturer’s clips that hold the timer in place. Had to finesse with a screwdriver, slow but successful. Dryer has had heavy use for a week now, like brand new. BTW, my first stop on-line had part back ordered. In stock at Partselect, had it in 3 days!

The TIMER on the dryer quit functioning. It heated, but would not move or turn off.
Removing the old timer was the hard part. When pulling off one of the wires it broke off from the female connector inside the plastic piece. I had to go the store to find another very small female connector that would work inside the plastic. After stripping the very small stranded wire, crimping it to the new connector I finally could

An electrician friend says the dryer probably has a 110 wire coming off the 220 to supply the power to the timer. I haven't taken it apart yet to try and find the problem.

Timer failed.
Removed 5 screws holding the back plate in place and removed the 5 different connections to the timer. I had a fair amount of difficulty "releasing" the old timer from its two clips that held the timer in place. I really needed a special pair of pliers that I could grip the pressure clips. Sad to say that in the process of releasing the b

The dryer will not shut off in either sensor or timed setting. Also we cannot change the temp setting, always hot, basically it just keeps running on high temp.
For model number MEDX655DW1
Hi John,
Thank you for your question. If your dryer shuts off too soon, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check heating element, the thermal cut-off kit, the timer, the high limit thermostat, the door switch and the drive motor with pulley. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
Hello Mary, Thank you for the question. If the Element, Thermal Cut Off Kit parts and the
Internal-Bias Thermostat were all tested and are good, you may need to replace the Timer. We hope this helps!
