Loose agitator
Brand new more or less GE washer. For some reason the agitator retaining screw sheared off. Part Select had the diagram to ID the part and had it in stock. Repair was pretty straight forward for someone with a little knowhow. But it was the right part and shipment was really fast.

Bolt broke in half
Removed the center agitator to clean it - had black mold and pink soap scum buildup underneath that you couldn't see or clean without taking it apart. Removed the bolt with ease. Upon tightening the bolt back in place, the bolt sheared in half, leaving the lower half threaded in place and the head in the socket. Had to use a drill bit and
... Read more drill out the lower half of the bolt completely. Ordered the replacement bolt and reassembled everything in less than 5 minutes. Replacement part was perfect - hopefully it lasts longer than the original bolt.

Is the 1/4 20 screw that holds the agitator a flat head (as compared to a Phillips head)?
Hello Tom, Thank you for the question. The Screw PartSelect Number PS11759130 requires a socket to be removed, not a screw driver. We hope this helps!

My agitator is floating up off--what do I need to do? Only lil over a year old...
For model number GTW525ACPOWB
Hi David, thank you for reaching out. If the agitator does not remain in its place, you may need to first tighten the screw, part number PS11759130, which keeps it in place. If the issue persists, then the screw is most likely worn out and you may need to replace it. We hope this helps!

Ordered new agitator bolt, part # WH02X24374 & doesn't seem to fit. Having difficulty screwing in. Afraid I'm gonna strip the threads.
For model number GTW335ASN0WW
Hi Katherine, thank you for the question. Using your hands, you just need to twist the screw into position and use a nut driver to tighten the screw until it is taut. We hope this information helps!

my washer fill drains spins but don't agitate
why
For model number gtw680bsj5ws
Hello Mary, thank you for contacting us. The probable cause of the issue is a faulty shifter, part number PS16554752. It shifts the washer drive system between agitation and spin mode. We would also recommend checking the drive belt, part number PS11736832, and the motor, part number PS11763333. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.
