Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This water inlet valve supplies water to the ice maker, allowing it to fill the reservoir and produce ice. If your ice maker is not filling correctly or is experiencing water flow issues, replacing this valve may resolve the problem. Always disconnect power and water supply before installation and verify compatibility with your model.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

What triggers the water solenoid to shut off. Water keeps running and is over flowing the tray. It’s overflowing and the pump gets engaged and pumps the overflowed water out of bottom of ice box where ice should be getting stored. Either my current solenoid is bad or what ever triggers the shut off of the water is bad

There is no water that enters the pan by the pumps then the pump turns on with no water to try to send the water to the grid. Is my water inlet valve not opening and therefore no water entering unit? ( there is no problem with the water supply to the unit). Thanks

Hi W, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, we recommend you check the following tubes: part numbers PS12584270, PS11757091, and PS11757092. If they are not clogged, you may need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS11765823. Good luck with your repair!
Install a new icemaker assembly, but water will not come into it. How do I determine if the solenoid valve that adds water to the ice maker is bad or the filter on the water valve Assembly is stopped up. And can you replace the small inline filter.
For model number ED5KVEXVB05
Hi Randy,
Thank you for your question. The filter screens are only sold with the water inlet valve and to verify if they are dirty, you will need to remove and inspect them visually. If the filter screens are fine, you will need to inspect the water inlet valve for signs of leaks, damage, or loose connectors. Check the tubing also for signs of cracks and other damage. If the there are no signs of damage on either the water tubing or water inlet valve, you will need to test the valve with a multimeter for continuity. Set your multimeter to the Rx1 setting and touch the terminals with the probes. You are testing for continuity and should receive a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. If you receive any other reading, you need a replacement water inlet valve. We hope this helps!
