Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is a LED light board assembly, used within refrigerators to shine light on the contents and food items within. If the light panel in your fridge is significantly dimmed or dead, it needs to be replaced immediately. To replace this light board, simply gain access to it within your fridge, disconnect and remove the wire harness from it, and slide it off its securing posts, and then place the new one in. This OEM LED light board is sold individually, so depending on how many light boards are out in your fridge, consider that before ordering.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

L.E.D. light board burned out.
Using my putty knife, I slid it under the light cover prying upward to remove it. I then unplugged the the light board from the wire and unsnapped from the two prongs. Then reinstalled.

LED light board assembly failed in freezer section
Clear freezer items in the area of repair as light assembly is in the back of the freezer. Suggest removing shelving in the same area to provide more working space. Be careful not to snap either posts or the light board. To install the new light board, I found it easier to connect the electrical source first, then push the light board onto the plastic posts to secure the light board. There are holes in the light board to insure a secure fit. Reinstall the light cover and reinstall the mounting screw. All done in less than 5 minutes!
