During defrost the items on the top shelf (vegetables) thaw out. The items on lower shelves (meat) do not. They do freeze back after a period of time but I'm thinking this is not correct. The freezer is about 30 months old and it has not done this in the past.
For model number FUF17SMREWW
Hello Mike, thank you for the question. It sounds like there might be an issue with the defrost cycle or air circulation in your freezer. Here are a few things you can check or try:
1. Air Circulation: Ensure that there is adequate space around the items in your freezer for air to circulate. Overloading the freezer can block air vents and lead to uneven cooling.
2. Defrost Cycle: If the defrost cycle is running too long or too frequently, it could cause items on the top shelf to thaw. Check the defrost timer and thermostat to ensure they are functioning correctly.
3. Temperature Settings: Verify that the temperature settings are appropriate for your freezer. Sometimes, adjusting the temperature slightly colder can help maintain a more consistent temperature throughout the freezer.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, then you may need to check the evaporator fan motor, part number PS16226576, to solve the problem. We hope this helps.
I want to make sure that this thermostat fits this product and that it will turn it into a Refrigerator.
(I am aware that the model number is a freezer but I want to turn it into a refrigerator by replacing the thermostat)
