Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is an inlet valve for your washing machine. The inlet valve is an electrically controlled valve with a solenoid that opens and closes as needed, during the water filling cycle of the washing machine. This inlet valve features two inlets, one for hot and one for cold water, and three push-on valves that connect within your washing machine. If your washer is having issues filling or is leaking water from the area of the inlet valve, it needs to be replaced immediately. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver and a wrench to replace. This inlet valve is an OEM part and is sold individually.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Faulty fill valve
Did troubleshooting after code LF showed on indicator window. Did troubleshooting; checked hoses for obstructions and small filters on inlets. All good. Ordered new fill valve. Came in a few days, good service. Removed control panel top by removing screws on back of control panel, then by pushing putty knife under each side to rele
... Read morease spring clips. Carefully lifted cover and set onto lid. Photographed fill valve at left side as you are standing in front of machine. Removed screws with small ratchet. Carefully removed wires via clips. Lifted out valve. Attached wires to new, set back into its place, replaced screws, tightened but not too tight so as to break part. Replaced control panel, pushing downward to engage spring clips, then replace screws on back. Re attached hoses, ensuring they were on the correct sides, plugged machine into power, ran through cycle and VIOLA!! Worked perfectly!! After a couple weeks, still working perfectly! Was VERY happy it was only fill valve and not mother board as the cost was a fraction. I found trouble shooting videos to be very helpful. Your service quite good.

Water Inlet Valve inoperative
Washer would start cycle and return a CL error. No water would flow into the tub. Researched problem and probable cause. Ordered new water inlet valve. Once received, disconnected water hoses and electric plug and removed rear upper access panel (5 screws). Used thin putty knife under sides of front control panel to disengage spring clips

Figuring out how to raise the front panel for access to the valve was most difficult. Found a YouTube video showing how; it was easy from there. Entire replacement took about 30 mins max.

washer would not fill, all 4 valve solenoid checked good.
The valve is a 4 solenoid valve, which has Temp. sensor molded into the valve body mixer center outlet. No mention of it in the troubleshooting. it has a 2 pin plug. it was shorted zero ohms. I will just unplug the 2 pin plug on bottom of valve assembly. By the way the 2 clips that hold the washer top in place are very difficult to remove and re install.

Water slowly leaks into or under the detergent dispenser, then runs into the wash basket periodically. Would this be the part that needs replacing? If so, how do I get the control console off? I see it has some plastic clips if I look from the inside.
For model number MVWB765FW0
Hello Barbara, Thank you for the question. If the leak is happening when the appliance is not in use, the valve will need to be replaced. Unfortunately, we do not currently have installation instructions for this particular part. For more specialized assistance or to speak with someone about this, I would suggest calling the manufacturer of the appliance directly. Hope this helps!

I get a lf error code, i have already cleaned the screen and am still getting the code. My flow and pressure are good from the hose. Would the next logical thing be to replace this valve or is there an adjustment?
For model number Mvwb765fw0
Hello David, thank you for inquiring. The LF code indicates an issue with the water flow into the machine, so checking to see if the water inlet hoses are kinked or clogged is the first step to take. Possible parts to replace would be either the Inlet Hoses part PS1487199, The Fill Hose part PS993135, or the Valve part PS12348013. We hope this helps.

Is this an inlet valve? There is not much of a description and the photo doesn't make it clear.
Hi Caroline,
Thank you for your question. Yes, this would be a water inlet valve. However to know if it works with your appliance we would need the model number of your washing machine. You would be able to find your model number on the appliance itself. Here is a link that should help you find it: https://www.partselect.com/Model-Number-Locator+11+repair.htm . Good luck with your repair.

I have a Maytag bravos xl and it doesn’t dispense water hot or cold i already purchased and replaced the inlet valve #w11165546 but it still didn’t work. The whole digital board works and you can hear it clicking trying to initiate but no water pours. Do i need a different part? Help
For model number MVWB835DWO
Hello Joel, thank you for your question. We would recommend checking the wiring harness from the board to the valve. There may be a loose or broken connection. If the harness is fine, test the valve to be sure you did not get a bad part. You may also want to check the pressure hose to be sure its not kinked or clogged as the pressure hose and sensor work with the valve to fill the tub with the appropriate amount of water. I hope this helps!

Can the lint screens on the inlet valve be cleaned? I tried to remove them, but they seemed to be part of the valve assembly.
For model number MVWB766FW0
Hello Charles, Thank you for the question. The Screen can not be removed unfortunately. You would need to be cleaned while still installed, or the valve can be replaced. We hope this helps!

An issue has crept up today. When you start the cycle, the water literally dribbles VERY slowly and there is no usual water flow/pressure. Tried different cycles, and it's the same issue. Very low and almost non-existent flow of water into the machine. Is this something I can fix myself? What part will do the trick? Thank you.
For model number MVWB865GW0
Hello John, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the issue is most probably with the water inlet valve, part number PS12348013. We would suggest replacing it to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!

Washer is producing terrible water hammer, and seems to be getting worse. I've closed the valves slightly to reduce flow which helped for a couple weeks, but the intensity has increased again. Is this a sign of failing solenoid valves and replacing the inlet valve recommended? Attaching arrestors would force me to remove a shelf so wondering about this part first.
For model number WTW7500GW2
Hello Justin, Thank you for your inquiry. Since this issue is usually caused by fast acting water flow, we would recommend changing the water inlet valve to fix the issue. We also recommend securing any loose pipes and wrapping them in insulation. Good luck with your repair.
