Attachment hub stopped spinning
Used youtube movies to disassemble the mixer and found that the gear was stripped. I kept the screws in labeled ziploc baggies so I wouldn't forget which screws went where. Once the part arrived, it was very simple to replace the gear. I regreased the mixer and then reassembled. The trickiest part was how greasy everything was! It was

This was the most involved part replacement I've done on my own, and it was very satisfying to get my mixer back in working order!

Decorative plug at top of mixer fell into the bowl and jammed the mixer stripping gears
Watch U Tube video. Take care to keep track of disassembly. Hard part was to have 4 types of screw drivers to fit the different screw heads. Be sure to clean broken gear clogs out of the grease. Parts select lady was a great help. Download Parts select diagram for extra help. Time and patience!

Punched out the roll pin to remove eccentric from spindle, undid 5 screws (after removing trim ring), and removed 4 screws to undo the motor housing. Make sure to keep the one screw with a lock washer in the BACK of the housing. Undid the screw on top to remove the back of the motor housing to take out the strain relief grommet, prior t

Make sure to mark match points for parts, and put the pins back in in the right order. You have to put the 5 screws back in before sliding the trim ring on, and putting the roll pin back. make sure all gears mesh and test before snugging the motor housing screws. Be sure to orient the strain relief grommet securely, and be careful of the filter plates in the back of the housing (they're brittle). putting the grease back is like frosting a cake. No action for the attachments for cutting/chopping.
I removed the rear cap, decorative strap, and decorative ring. Next I drove out the pin holding the mixing head. I then removed the 9 screws holding on the motor/gearing portion. This facilitated removal of the gearing from the motor assembly. I next laid in the new gears and calculated what thickness of fiber washers were needed to h

Do you have this part with a 1 inch diameter shaft?
For model number KSM150PSCV
Hi Don,
Thank you for your follow up question. Unfortunately no but according to your model number it does look like this one is supposed to be the correct part for your appliance. So it should work according to KitchenAid. So at the very least we can guarantee it will be the correct part because it matches underneath your model number. I hope that helps Don.
