This is a door seal, but you may also know it as a door gasket and it is a part for your dishwasher. It provides a leak proof seal between the tub and the door of your appliance. You will need to replace the door seal if you are experiencing leaking from the front of your dishwasher. Once you have removed your old seal, we recommend inspecting the groove to make sure there are no food particles or debris caught inside that will impede the installation process.

Dishwasher leaked bottom corner
Removed existing gasket by pulling up from the bottom edge. Clean groove where gasket came out of with a tooth brush and then replace gasket starting in the middle near the door latch. Make sure gasket is evenly distributed on both sides.

New door seal difficult to insert.
The first try didn't go well. The door didn't stay locked because the new seal was preventing it. I pulled it back off for the second try and first I let it soak in the hot water for a few minutes to soften the rubber. Door seal was worn and leaky
Note orientation of the old gasket before removing it, so you can put the new one in right. Pull the old one out, which is a snap. Mark the center of the new one and push the center into the channel with your thumb nail at the top middle of the machine. My new rubber gasket did not have a white line like stated but I figured it out after studing it a few times.
Once I figured it out it was not bad at all and most of all it worked, no leaks. I just cleaned some old glue off the stainless steel, dried it well, ran a bead of glue like directions showed, squeezed in the new gasket, closed the door for 24 hours then ran the dishwasher. No Problems.

Dishwaster was leaking when running.
1. Removed lower dish tray. 2. Removed old gasket by pulling it out. Came out easy. 3. Cleaned gasket track of food particles with toothbrush and rag. 4. Found center of new gasket and installed new gasket by starting at the top center and work around track pushing gasket in until seated. 5. Tested and no leaks.

Door pops open easily
We have been living with this problem for a couple of years. My wife resorted to leaning a chair with a bag of potatoes against the door. As time went on, she had to use heaver and heaver potatoes. ... Read moreears wouldn't cover the repair due to some technicality), I decided to try and replace all three items that could contribute to the door not staying shut. The Strike Plate, Door Latch and Door Seal. Parts were easy to find on the web site and delivered from PartSelect in record time. The installation was fairly easy. I loosened the star head screws holding the Stainless outer front panel to the inner panel. These are located all around the inside of the door. The Stainless front panel then separated a bit, like a "V". I didn't completely remove the front panel as there seemed to be some wires connected that I didn't want to mess with. So I just tilted it forward and reached inside to remove the 2 screws holding the door latch. Replaced it and the door seal. Removing the strike plate required slipping a knife under the plate and releasing the spring prongs from he sides. It all seemed very intuitive. Even though we were expecting to be dishwasher shopping the next day - The door stayed shut and has worked great now for a month.
Cleaned area, applied sealant and laid the sealant in. Unfortunately, it did not work. Still leaks. Going to the maytag store to get another and try again.

Dishwasher has small leak in the front of the right lower door. Repairman appointed by american home shield brought a gasket but in looking, did not think it would work. Was visibly much wider. Cannot find a replacement on your website using the model and serial numbers. A sticker on the top of the dishwasher door listed a "part number" (9743396revc), but i do not know this relevance to the door gasket.Suggestions?

Hello Blain, thank you for your question. There is a channel that the Door Gasket fits into to hold it on. If you find you do require adhesive, then Heat Resistant Adhesive part PS11728058 will be sufficient.

Door leaking at the corner replaced the seal still leaks , not as much. Noticed the seal was some what smaller than original, need your seal part number, i find that there to many seals with different part #'s, can i order from KitchenAid?? also should i trim any excess at the bottom of the seal

I replaced the gasket, and it seems to fit, but the door will not stay shut. The new gasket seems to be bigger than the old one. Do I need to replace the strike plate and/or the door latch, as another customer had to do? Or can you suggest something else?

2nd try--i replaced the gasket, because the door was leaking. The new gasket seems to fit, but now the door will not stay closed. The door stays closed with the old gasket, so it seems the new gasket is too big. The new gasket is a different shape than the old gasket.

We are trying to complete our kitchen with this new dishwasher. There is a gap between dishwasher and cabinets. Do you sell a product that fills that gap? I am afraid that if I start it and use dishwasher it will move or leak water. I did see part w10864081. It says it is for door. I am trying to wrap this project up your response will help me. Hello Karen, Thank you for the question. The Seal is not to fill a gap between the appliance and the Kitchen Cabinet sorry. The seal forms a watertight barrier between the door and the dishwasher tub. The Appliance should be mounted to prevent it from moving. Checking the model we do not list the optional Trim or Filler kit to fill in any gaps. For more specialized assistance or to speak with someone about this, I would suggest calling the manufacturer of the appliance directly. We hope this helps.
