This was a very easy repair, and the correct part easy to find with PartSelect
The most critical part of the repair of our GE washer was to determine the cause of the failure to drain water when that part of the washing cycle was activated. Once it was determined that the drain pump was at fault (could hear it's motor "humming" trying to run, but pump wasn't pumping water), it was easy to find the correct GE replacement pump using the PartSelect website using GE Model number.. Ordering was easy, shipping was incredibly fast, and the part was perfect when it arrived. The actual replacement of this drain pump in the machine is so easy. Requires only unplugging power from the washer, draining of the water from the tub, tipping the washer back about 45 degrees to expose the pump through the open bottom side. Then removal of one clamp and hose from the pump output, changing out the pump by removal of three bolts, and reversing the process to install the new pump. A VERY simple and easy repair, and the washer was again "good as new". Thank you PartSelect for your great parts service!!

Replace pump in washing machine
Part came 1 day early. Took more time to drain the machine and move to a location i had room to work in, than it took to replace the part (<20 mins.).

relatively easy repair
The part was in great shape when it arrived and my washer is working well again. The hardest parts were getting under the washer and getting the spring clasps off safely.

Washer was not draining (but was agitating), drain pump thought to be problem
You will need to shut off the water, unplug the washer, disconnect the water lines, disconnect and drain the drain line, tip the washer either at an angle or on its side, remove motor cover, disconnect drain pump electrical cable, remove drain pump, install new drain pump, reconnect drain pump electrical cable, reconnect drain line and wa

Note: I thought the drain pump was bad for 2 reasons. 1 was the washer had previously started to smell, indicating the washer might not be fully draining. 2 was that the washer would agitate (meaning motor seemed fine) but when it would normally start draining before spinning, the washer would do nothing (could hear a faint hum coming from the washer).

Washer would not empty when it hot drain cycle
Once I determined it was the drain pump, (by taking off the drain hose and letting it empty by gravity, then running the spin cycle which worked ok) I ordered the part, got confirmation from PartSelect.com that it would fit my washer. I removed the old pump taking out the 6 screws needed to hold it and the cover in place and unplugged the

Would not pump water out.water filled and lid would lock, when put on drain and spin cycle, would just get a low humming sound.
Dipped water out as much as possible, tited washer at a 45 degree angle and propped it up. Took the 3 bolts out holding the pump assembly and the 3 bolts holding the belt guard.Unplug wire connecter, pull out assembly and than pull drain hose off of assembly. Reinstall the same as you take apart. Was a easy fix, and worked as it should.

MY WASHER WILL NOT SPIN OR DRAIN. THERE IS NO HUMMING NOISE BUT THE LID LOCK AND SPIN LIGHTS ARE ON. IT MAKES ONE CLICK AND THEN NOTHING WOULD THIS BE THE PUMP MOTOR OR IS THERE ANOTHER POSSIBLE CAUSE?
For model number GTW330ASK3WW
Hello Roger, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Mode Shifter. The Mode Shifter, controls the agitation program, and allows the washer to go through the fill, agitate, rinse and spin cycles. We hope this helps!

Sometimes the washer leaks all over the floor and then sometimes it will not drain and I believe it to be the pump motor but I wanted to be sure. But originally it was just dumping everything on the floor.

Dark clothes come out of the washer with white soap marks on some of the clothes. I run an extra rinse and most of the spots are removed. I checked the liquid detergent amount required and cleaned the washer (ran bulk with bleach and cleaned detergent tray). White spots persist. Soft water used. Any ideas?
For model number GTW720BSNOWS
Hi Tom, thank you for the question. Based on the description you have provided, we would recommend checking the drain pump, part number PS12723115, as it might be clogged and draining water out slowly resulting in lint, undissolved detergent, and soil redepositing on the clothes. We hope this helps!

Is the recirculating pump included in the Pump drain assembly?
For model number GTW330ASK3WW
Hello Kayla, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and do not show that it has a recirculating pump (as this seems to be only for top load models with a glass lid) and the drain pump only drains the water out. We hope this helps.

I have a GE 27in Spacemaker 3.8 cubic feet Top Loader Washer and a 5.9 cubic feet electric dryer stackable.
Every time I wash, the washer leaks a substantial amount of water during the rinse cycle.
Can fix this problem or should I buy a new machine?
Thank you in advance for your help
For model number GTUP270EM4WW
Hello Sharon, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the issue is most probably with the tub seal, part number PS11726907. It creates a watertight seal between the tub and the inner spin basket. You may need to replace it to solve the problem. Glad to be of assistance!
