Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This genuine OEM ice maker assembly is compatible with various models of LG refrigerators. The assembly includes the icemaker unit, ice mold, water inlet valve, ice bin, thermostat, and wiring harness. It has a length of approximately 12 inches, and it is located within the freezer compartment. The ice maker receives water from the water inlet valve, where it is frozen into ice cubes. The ice cubes are then ejected from the mold into the ice bucket where you can easily collect the ice cubes at your convenience. If any one of the parts in the unit is faulty, you will need to replace the entire ice maker assembly. The signs of a faulty assembly include difficulties making ice, sudden unusual noises, and large blocks of ice in the ice mold or tray.

Easy repair!
The wiring harness on the sent part was slightly different that on my model, but this was easily remedied by opening the switch section and removing the extra clipped on harness.
Saved a service call!

the ice tray does not fill with water. the tray will not open to dump ice when the on off switch is cycled.
For model number lmxs28626s
Hi Thomas,
Thank you for your question. If your your ice maker is not filling with water and it will not dump the ice, you may need a new ice maker. You should also check the dispenser microswitch, the water inlet valve, the dispenser control board, the ice bucket, the fill tubes, the water filter, and the ice dispenser actuator. We have included some links that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
There is ice in the ice mold but it will not dump the ice. Reset button makes a little "ping" noise but the unit does not rotate or move at all when the button is pushed. Tried shutting off power for a minute and restarting but the reset button still does nothing. It's motionless. (The water dispenser works and the ice dispenser works when there's ice to dispense). Do I need to replace the whole ice maker assembly? Is there anything else to try first? The fridge is only a little over a year old.

Hello Larry, thank you for contacting us. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the ice maker assembly, part number PS12373661, to fix the issue. Glad to be of assistance!
My ice maker is making ice, but there is a constant leak of water from the ice maker down through the dispenser, onto the ledge (outside the fridge door) where you place your glass. The water pressure has always been fine as this fridge is years old, so it doesn't appear that overfilling is the issue. I'm thinking the ice tray is getting weak and not fully sealing, causing water to trickle out the front side of the tray. Is this a possibility? What could other causes be, and which part(s) should be replaced?
For model number LRMVS3006S
Hello Lindsey, Thank you for writing. This can also be caused by a faulty water inlet valve becoming stuck open enough to allow water through and over filling the ice maker. The Valve can be tested with a Multimeter. Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. We hope this helps!

Ice maker not dispensing ice. It seems to freeze the ice but not dispense. when I press the test button, it will rotate, dump and refill with water. Then never moves again. I defrosted the refrigerator just to be safe, no luck. The metal bar seems to move freely.

Hi Robert., thank you for contacting us. The issue seems to be with the ice dispenser assembly, part number PS12724666. It is the component that allows your refrigerator to dispense ice. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
The upper ice maker will dump the ice for a while and then freeze up and stop dumping. I then have to try and loosen the tray with the ice so it will dump. Sometimes this takes numerous tries until it eventually dumps. But now I can’t get it to dump at all.
