BEFORE YOU START - wear long sleeves and gloves to protect your wrists and your hands. I found many sharp surfaces that will scrape off layers of skin.
I followed the video using a tie wrap to hold the belt onto the large pulley. After having the belt slip under pulley just as I was almost finished, I used mulitple ties to keep it in place. The belt also wants to work off the motor pulley just as it is almost on. I used a 1” dowel rod placed to help keep the belt from working down off the motor pulley and to help work it back up onto the motor pulley. It would be far easier if you have the device shown on the videos to prevent it from working down, but I’m cheap and due to the age of the washer don’t plan to ever replace the belt again.

I heard this is a tool you need to get that belt on with out slipping off. we thought we had the wrong size belt it as impossible at first to get the belt on. what a struggle

Very large noise during spin cycle
Tub seal was found completely broken. Replaced it. Then replaced tub bearing, tub bearing washer, shaft & mode shifter assembly and 6-rib drive belt. Reassembled and tried, more quieter and like new machine.

Make sure you have something to secure the belt to the big wheel.
It was hard for me. I'm a 54 year old woman. I tied it to the wheel with twine. It kept popping off, right it the time I would just about have it on. Several times !!!! I had no zip ties. Finally I tied the part of the craft stick on tightly. Put the belt on the motor rod and as much of the wheel as it would allow. Started turning slowly.

Had to replace drive belt on washer
I removed the front cover on washer I tied wrapped one side of the belt to to the back pulley and placed the belt on the the motor pulley then placed the belt installer on pulley below belt with gloves on I started rotating the pulley in the back and when it started getting s little tight I moved pulley back and forth then started turning

Broken drive brlt

... Read moregain, also ordered a new 6-rib belt. Once reassembled and tested, it was quieter than when it was when brand new, according to my wife. Parts came in very quickly and the tutorials/youtubes were spot on.
Followed videos on partselect.com for changing tub bearing. Video does very good job of showing steps required. Repair would be easy if washer was new. First problem was conical tub nut could not be loosened even applying penetrating oil and heat. Finally resorted to 1/2" drive pneumatic impact gun (wrench) which hammered about 10 sec
... Read moreonds before the nut came loose. Had to purchase 1-11/16 deep well 6 point impact socket at cost of about $30 for this task. Second difficulty was removing tub seal whose exterior rubber coating had apparently failed and the seal internal metal parts corroded causing it to expand. The tub seal had to be beat out from the bottom side using a drift. The next difficulty was removing the tub bearing which had corroded from minor leakage through the tub seal. Corrosion made the tub bearing outside diameter (OD) larger so it could not be removed using the method in the video. The outer tub bottom side was supported as close to the center as best possible and a socket just smaller than the tub bearing OD was placed on top of the bearing and was used to drive (hammer) the tub bearing out. There was a lot of cleaning necessary especially on the inner tub conical fit areas where tub rides on the split ring and hub nut. During reassembly the tub seal did not have a press fit into the tub; it was barely finger tight. I suspect the tub had permanently distorted in the seal area because the old tub seal had corroded and expanded. So silicone sealant was applied to the outside diameter of the tub seal to assure no leakage around the seal. I allowed that to cure overnight to be certain the seal would not move when inserting the shaft and mode shifter through the seal. A very light oil was applied inside the tub bearing. The last problem found was when tightening the bolts holding the base frame to the outer tub the base frame was pulled to one side so the mode shifter was not concentric with the base frame. This would place a side load on the mode shifter shaft and tub bearing. This was resolved by placing a 1/16" thick washer between one leg of the tub and base frame which maintained the base frame concentric to the mode shifter as the tub to base frame bolts were tightened. The repair is conceptually easy to perform but was challenging due to corrosion and detergent residue from 11 years operation. Now the washer rotating parts are essentially new, the repaired assembly is probably better than the original factory assembly, and the washer should operate for another ten years before the mode shifter bearing goes out again. A longer repair than anticipated but time and money well spent. Being retired helps.

The video on your site on the page for this belt was perfect. Really just using a tie wrap to hold the belt as you spin it to put in place was a very helpful idea. It was easy and less expensive than a new washer!

Hello, we just purchased a 6- rib drive belt, a drain pump assembly, and agitator coupling to rectify my washer spin problem. I installed all these parts but regrettable these parts did not fix the spinning problem i am back to square one. It spins slowly and never picks up momentum to spin dry the clothes. Therefore, the spin cycle leaves the clothes wet to where they need to be wrung out due to the amount of water that is still left in the clothes. What do you recommend i do to fix the problem. I'am at the end of my rope. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your door switch. If your door switch is malfunctioning, it will not allow your machine to go into the spin cycle because that would be a safety hazard as the machine thinks that the door is open. I would also suggest testing your drain pump as well. If both of those parts are fine, you may have to look into checking your motor. Good luck with your repair.

Hello, we purchased the belt, replaced it and it worked. However, within the last few days, the washer will do 2-3 loads no problem, then it doesn't work again, all day. Then in the evening bam! It spins again. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello Norma, thank you for your question. I would recommend checking the lid switch assembly first. If the switch is functioning intermittently, the unit might work for a few loads then stop, then work again. That is the part Lid Switch with Wire Harness PartSelect Number: PS1482372. If that part is tested and is functioning properly, you will want to check the Shaft & Drive Tube Assembly Part Number: PS3652839 as well as the Drive Motor and Inverter Assembly PartSelect Number: PS8746234. How can you tell if the motor has gone out on the washer? It won't spend or agitate. And the belt is good.

Hello Keith, Thank you for the question. With a defective motor you can at times smell a burning or hear a hum noise coming from the motor. You can also test it with a multi meter to check continuity. Hope this helps!

It spins but when it come to the 4 minute faster speed it slows down for that last cycle instead of speeding up. I sprayed some belt dressing on the belt but it didn't help. I tried the 6 minute drain and spin and when it got to the 4 minute it slowed down just the same.

Washer won’t agitate or spin. Sometimes it will try to agitate but it barely moves. It did spin for me once yesterday, but stopped again altogether. It fills and drains just fine. What part should i get?

everything works fine, but noticing very slight petro? type smell best we can tell during spin cycle. it does go away. clothes smell fine. opened cabinet no leaks. it is not a burnt smell any thoughts??
