Easy replacement, problem solved!
Replaced a bad switch that was causing a constant cooling fan and element pairing in a cooktop. Expedited shipping was on time and still priced right. Thanks!

RIght front burner not working (custom control)
One important note is you can't buy the control for the right front burner (Custom Control) by itself. This kit included both the burner, control and wiring harnesses. This is a retrofit, I am assuming a known problem with the original design. This repair requires the cooktop to be removed from counter, turned upside down, and disassem
... Read morebled. It comes with a 45 step instruction sheet thats pretty good. Let me point out a few things that are helpful: 1) The screws to attach the control to the switch plate are too short. These are 8/32 screws 1/4 inch long. I had to go to the hardware store and buy two screws 3/8 long and cut them, since 3/8 is too long of course. Follow directions carefully, you need to remove the bottom cover and fan to disconnect it before taking the burner box completely off. The shaft of the new control is shorted than the other controls so you need to put a "filler" in the burner nob. THey suggest you use the rubber gasket from the old switch so make sure not to throw it away. One other note, since this is a retrofit, you need a drill. You need to drill out two slots in the switch plate to mount the new burner control. Good Luck.

Oven sparked and switched off circuit breaker.
Turned off power at circuit breaker. There is a panel on the underside of the stove top with four hex head screws. Removed it to give access to the switches beneath the knobs. A socket set was useful here. Identified the switch that was shorting. Detached the wires connected to that switch. They are all quick connects, but s

Removed the switch by taking out the knob on the top and loosening the two Philips screws on either side of the switch stem. The switch came out easily after that. Put in the new switch, reattached with the Philips screws, and replaced the wire connection. Replaced panel and turned power back on. Turned on burners to ensure proper operation.

My dual heat element now only turns full-on or full-off. My uneducated guess is that the problem is in the switch. Am I right, or is the problem more likely in the element itself? Thanks! And can you tell me the replacement part I need?
For model number JEC8536
Hello Bob,
Thanks for your question. The infinite switch, part number PS2003582, is the most common reason for this situation to occur. We would advise replacing that first before trying to replace the element, though you can test the element for continuity if you have a multi-meter.
I hope this helps.

Hello i need the switch for the big burner for this stove top model, its different than the other 3 small burners how can i get the right part?
For model number MEC5430BDB
Hi Saul,
Thank you for your inquiry. The dual burner infinite switch kit, part number PS2003582, is for a dual element. The surface element switch regulates the heat of the surface burner. This should be the correct switch you are looking for. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Front right dual element burner does not turn on - element light on and cooktop hot warning light do not come on. Is this a problem with the dual element or the switch?
For model number JEC9536ADB
Hello Al, thank you for writing. This sounds like switch issues. The Dual Burner Infinite Switch kit PartSelect Number PS2003582 is what you need. However, the indicator light switch PS2201762 is discontinued.

The right front dual element (closest to the operator) of my cooktop has a faulty switch and will not heat up. Can you please confirm that this part is the correct replacement? The numbers on my original switch/circuit board are: Maytag8507p193-60 and p/n34010003(m37/0470) s/n 26972. You do not list a cross reference for these numbers. Thanks! Mike

Will this infinite switch replacement work in my cp220b cooktop from 1995? It's a cooktop with 2 burners on each side of a grate for the downdraft. The original part is no longer available.
For model number CP220B
Hello, Thank you for contacting us. Very sorry but once the part has been discontinued we have no known replacement listed in our system. We have no further information. You are welcome to contact the manufacturer of the part to see if they have recently released a new substitute. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

I hear an electrical click when i try to turn on the front right burner (small dual burner). Is this the right part regardless of the size of dual burner?
For model number JEC9536ADS
Hello Mark, thank you for your question. Per the model information, the front right dual switch is PartSelect Number: PS2003582 and the center rear (dual) switch is different, that part number is PartSelect Number: PS11744207. I hope this helps!
