How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Part was in great condition. Only problem was wiring instructions provided with part were not clear. Replacement part wiring different. Online help made the process easier and more clear. Stove back in operation and working well. Also had to return a part. Process was smooth and staff very helpful. This will be my go to site for appliance repair needs.

Cooktop repair
90% of my cooking was done with the large surface heat unit. So when it’s control unit failed I was considering replacing the entire cooktop at +/- $450. For about $50 a PartSelect replacement control module got my cooktop working again. Diagrams and easy to follow instructions were included with the part.

It works
The labeling stamped on the part I received did not exactly match the item pictured, and arrived in an open package. I was concerned that I was sent a returned part that would not work. Since the arrangement of the wire connectors and part appeared to match the original otherwise, I decided to try it. As other reviewers have noted, there are no instructions on installation. However, if you carefully label the wires before disconnecting from the old part (and take pictures) then it’s a straightforward task to reconnect the leads to the new part.
Electric range is now back in order, works as it should.

Great part & customer service, installation instructions could be better.
Problem was the Jenn-Air R. F. dual element burner worked only as off, or “high” heat even if set on lower temp positions. Video instructions at website were generally helpful for how to remove & replace a switch. However old & new switches were different so that the correct way to reconnect the wiring was difficult and confusing. Old OEM switch was different connection arrangement and hard-to-read, confusing connection blades labeling. Instruction sheet with replacement switch was too simplistic and relied too much on blade labeling. Wire color reference as in repair instruction notes from the website by “Igor from Campbell, CA” is a much better guide for us non-professional appliance repair D-I-Y guys. (I must say though that Igor’s error in his instruction point #3 which states “Single BLK wire” to P1 instead of the correct “Double BLK wire” threw me off track for a while.) Also, the replacement part Instruction Sheet notations of “two red wires must be separated” is confusing. Igor’s points # 1 & 2 which indicate placement for “Double Red” and “Single Red” wires are more straightforward instructions. Finally, the jumper wire note in the Instruction Sheet states “If your application requires a jumper wire(s), use the jumper supplied with kit”. No jumper is used on the old OEM switch, so how do you know if the application requires a jumper? I again relied on Igor’s instruction point #7 and connected the jumper wire.
EUREKA! On reassembly & test, the new replacement switch restored dual burner function to full temp range control on both inner and outer elements. My wife is SO VERY HAPPY. Thanks PartSelect, and special shout-out to Igor.

Engaging dual burner switch would blow breaker. All other elements worked fine.
Isolated circuit by disconnecting cooktop breaker. Disconnected blower duct, raised cooktop above the countertop to access screws holding the glass surface. Blocked in place--no need to completely remove cooktop. Removed screws around top of pan with 1/4-inch nut driver--only need to remove any screws close to top of pan
... Read more and glass surface. Lifted off glass surface. Dual burner switch bracket needs to be removed to access switch and to disconnect wire harness connections. Note there was one screw holding bottom of bracket which was hidden by the wire harness. I was concerned with connections from other reviews; however, in my case, the switch and connections were identical to the original--no problem. Reinstalled bracket and glass cooktop--need to remember flange location (inside versus outside) to assure easy alignment of screws. Drop cooktop back into countertop and reconnect blower duct. Powered back up and dual burner now fully functional.

raising the cook top on to 2x2s, one on each end, allowed me to remove the 9 sheet metal screws that keep the glass top fastened to the box containing all of the heating elements and controls. I then transferred the wires from the old switch to what I thought were the corresponding pins on the new switch(the replacement switch has more pins, and they are not located in exactly the same spots as the old switch). When I turned the power back on, the switch turned the burners on, I had heat but the indicator lights didn't work. I turned the breakers back off and rewired according to a previous commentors wiring directions(his model was not exactly the same as mine), the indicators worked but I was back to no heat. I called my son, who has his own commercial electric company, and he looked at my photos from before, the diagram that came with the new switch, and it took him about 15 minutes to reconnect the pins to different wires and when we turned the power back on---both indicators and heating elements worked. It was the dual switch and double indicator that made it more complex to figure out. Nice to have very smart kids.

No directions for installation for part 12002125. Website you referenced on youtube is no longer available. I need an easily read drawing and/ or diagram showing where wires should be connected. There are 2 smaller gauge jumpers in the package, both black in color, one with an insulated 90 degree connector on one end, and one with an insulated straight connector on one end. Please advise.
Thank You. Also, a drawing of the original switch alongside the replacement with color coded wires would be of tremendous help, if the wires could be identified as smooth, braided surface, etc., along with guidance if any wires need to be cut or otherwise modified. As you probably know, the configuration and labeling of the terminals on this replacement switch are very different from the original, due to a change in design. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance----Roddy Cooper
