Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
Note: Part has been redesigned by the manufacturer and will appear different than the original, but will function the same.
This evaporator fan motor is located in the back of the freezer, and circulates air over the refrigerator coils. These coils will convert the heat into cool air, which is then circulated.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Correct replacment
Kit came fast and was the right part. Good transaction. Only tip is to save the rubber bushing from motor being replaced since they are still needed and not part of this kit.

Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
Let me just say that because Parts Select website was so informative with the video, diagram of the repair it saved me $1500. I just moved and wasn’t aware that if the freezer was running and the top doors were open/off (French door model with freezer on bottom). I had to plug it in before I could slide it in to the alcove. This caused the motor to fail. I had it that way for 15 min while we cleaned it. The repair was quick and easy ( I suggest take pictures before each removal step). It worked as expected and have had no problems since. I hope to not need them anytime soon but if I do, I know exactly where to go.

Freezer worked, but the refrigerator was no cooling.
Put in a evaporater fan. My husband took it apart. I started putting it back together before he got home from work. It wasn't hard. With the freezer on the bottom of the frig and it was hard to crawl around and get into. But I got her done. He helped by putting the ice maker back in. Got her done. Works great.

Freezer cold but refrigerator not
Replaced this fan about two years ago for the same problem. Ordered another fan because the symptoms were the same and could not hear or feel the fan running. (Didn't take freezer section apart) So now I have a spare fan, as the one I replaced before was just fine. Problem was ice build up behind the back panel, blocking the air. Will

Erratic Cooling
I removed the freezer drawer and wire tray. Unscrewed and removed the cover at the back of the freezer after removing the ice maker. Disconnected a few wire connectors to access the old motor. Compressed the plastic arms holding the old motor in. Installed new motor using insulators from the old motor. Put everything back together.

Per others' descriptions of this issue, I confirmed that the fan in the upper area of the freezer was not functioning. Purchased this assembly, which had everything ready to go. Freezer is cold and refrigerator warm. Fins had frost on them. Replaced control board and defrost thermostat. Fridge still warm. Checked and fan does move and work but again fridge not cold. Damper door in upper refrigerator appears to be open so that seems good. What would be causing this?
For model number MFD2560HES
Hello Brian, thank you for your question. I would recommend checking the thermistor in the unit, part number Thermistor Part Number: 12002355. If this part isn't working, it will not tell the board to start the fan to push the air through to the fridge from the freezer. That part is located in the freezer section where the coils are. I hope this helps!

It appears the Maytag fridge is keeping the food cold however the movable brace between the french doors is warm to the touch. The freezer located below is working fine.Should the evaporator fan motor be replaced?
For model number MFD2560HES
Hello James, thank you for inquiring. If the Vertical Mullion Rail, part number PS11738596 for your model, seems to be too warm then it is a sign that the refrigerator is overheating. This could mean that there is a problem with the Condenser Fan Motor, part number PS2004026 for your model. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

I have replaced the electronic control board; the condenser start device and capacitor; the defrost thermostat; and the thermistor; and after each separate part replacement the fridge and freezer would run ice cold for four days to a week and then get warm again i replaced a different part and the same problem would repeat i took it to a local repairman who connected sensors and after 4 days the problem repeated itself and he could not recommend an answer why would this happen after each part replacement if i had done it incorrectly why would it seem to work and then stop again i have unplugged the fridge for a day and it would not start back up then transporting it to the repairman it worked again he suggested a short in the wiring but if so why would it repeat this pattern and instead just stay off mahalo for your help
For model number 59675539400
Hi Dennis, thank you for your question. You have checked all of the parts that would generally cause temperature issues in your appliance. I would suggest you take your technician's advice and take a look at the wiring. That is a good next step in trying to figure out what is going on with your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
