Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is a door striker, it is gray in color and is a part found on your washer. The purpose of the striker is to keep your washer door closed for usage. This piece will attach to your appliance lid and will activate the door switch when your lid is closed. The most common reasons for needing to replace this part are if your lid will not consistently open or close, and your washer will not consistently start. The only tool you will need to complete this installation is a Phillips screwdriver.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Damage inner and outer door frame. Normal wear and tear Damsge
Followed the youtube video step by step. Very helpful video. Be careful of hinge screws. They are very easy to strip. Had to buy a special tool to remove stripped screws. Advice go ahead and purchase the 4 screws. 3 for the hinge and 1 for spare. Rest of the repair was easy. Less than an hour to complete.
Your website made it very simple to identify the parts, and offered either a video or installation instructions. Couldn't have been easier. $550 was the quote I got to repair the washer, the parts with overnight shipping were $147 and my 30 minutes of time.
The small plastic piece broke that locked the door.
Screwed the new part back into place.

The only problem was that the drive belt was so tight that it was two inches short from the drive shaft making it very difficult to put on by hand.
I did my best to stretch the belt out and as I wrapped it around the pulley one hand was preventing the belt from slipping off and the other hand had the screwdriver to use as Leverage to stretch and slip the belt on the other side of the pulley. One thing that I saw but didn't try was to use zip ties to temporarily hold the belt in place
... Read more so it didn't slip off that may have helped.

The door to my washer closes but the machine does not recognize it as closed and keeps flashing that the door is open
For model number FAFS4272LW0
Hi Beverly,
Thank you for your question. It is likely that your door lock latch is malfunctioning. I would suggest testing that part to see if it is working or not. I have linked the part information down below for you. Good luck with your repair.
I ordered latch# 131763302 from amazon which says it is a genuine manufacturer part which is supposed to be the new number for part # 134456640 but it does not work it’s like it’s not as thick as the original one that broke please help is your part gonna work if i order it ? Would your part be the same one that i have already ordered? Thanks for your help
For model number ATF7000FSO
Hello Livia, thank you for your question. The manufacturer had discontinued the original part (part number 134456640). The substitution part, which is part number 131763302, is supposed to work with your unit and would be the same part you would receive if you ordered through us, or anyone else. However, the issue could be with the latch that this striker goes into and attaches to. You may want to replace the latch, which is part number 131763256. I hope this helps.
