Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
The broil element is located at the top of the oven and gives off heat in order to bake evenly. If you notice that the element is not heating up or is not cooking evenly it could be because it is broken or burnt out. The depth of the screw-on terminals is 2-3/4 inches and they are 1-1/4 inches apart. Does not include mounting bracket. All you need for this simple repair is small screwdriver. To complete this repair, you will need to first turn the oven off (or shut off the house circuit breaker), remove the two screws that are holding the old element in place, remove the two wires from the old part, and then connect them to the new part and screw back into place.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.
Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".

Correct part
Not the easiest install but only because it’s the broiler element and it’s difficult to reach connections in the rear. Works as it should.

Quick and easy
The part was exactly correct and went in without a hassle. Why should I ever pay for a repair person again. As long as I know how to use a screwdriver and a few minor tools, I'll never pay for repairs again and will get a great deal of satisfaction doing it!

broiler element was broken
I looked on Youtube for a how to video. It was accurate but the screws in my oven were NOT phillips head screws, they turned out to be sheet metal screws. I used pliers at first which was a PAIN but then I borrowed a socket wrench from the neighbor that was MUCH better!! I had wanted to do it myself to prove to my husband and son that I c

Replace cracked broiler element
Unplugged Stove, pulled away from wall. With smaller wrenches, took the two screw-nuts off the inside back and above that hold the broiler element in place. Since it is an older stove...took the back panel off the stove with philips screw-driver which consisted of 10 screws. Once that was removed was able to unscrew the broiler element fr

Burned out heating elements
Repair went well. Intent of this submission is to give PartSelect a pat on the back. Diagrams of parts on their website made it easy to identify which parts were required. Order arrived promptly, ordered Tuesday night, arrived Friday. Good Job!
Piece of cake to repair. I took both both heating elements off. I sprayed oven cleaner everywhere to soften the grime. I waited 10 minutes and wiped up the softened baking grime. Installation took 5 minutes for each element and about 15 minutes to clean the oven while both elements were removed.
Turned power off to oven. Unscrewed back plate exposing wires connected to heating element. It was difficult to unscrew the connections between them as it was hard to reach in because the oven door was in the way, but i finally succeeded. Unscrewed the bracket holding the burned out element and then attached the wires to the new element.

When the broiling element wires slip back into the back of the oven ( this is a wall oven ) how do you retreave the wires to connect the broiling element?
For model number RJ734GP1
Hi James,
Thank you for your question. You would have to remove your appliance from the wall to be able to get to the wires and push them back through the opening. Good luck with your repair.
