Installing The Pump Connector on a GE Dishwasher
Installing The Pump Connector (part # PS259530)
On a GE Dishwasher
After disconnecting and removing the dishwasher, lay the dishwasher on its back. Loosen the clamp (332) between the pump connector and the pump motor. Next loosen the clamp (452) between the pump and the sump. Disconnect the part (420) from the pump motor and remove the pump motor from pump connector and the sump. Next turn the pump connector to the left to unscrew it from the bottom of the dishwasher. You may need pliers or adjustable wrench to turn the pump connector. In reverse order repeat the process to reinstall components. Takes about 30 min start to finish.

Water leaking underneath dishwasher
went online to parts select. Looked at parts that could be leaking. Thought it was the sump. Purchased the sump and the pump connector. Almost bought the adaptor pump assembly, but it was $29.00. Parts arrived in about 2 days. Turned off water and power to dishwasher. Disconnected the copper water line. Hardest part was getting the dishwa
... Read moresher out of space. Once out, layed it on it's side. Parts held together with clamps. Took it apart like a puzzle. Replaced the parts, tightened the clamps. Pump connector hard to unscrew. Got a good hand grip on it and turned it loose. Sump did have a hole in it. Put everything back together. water, electric, etc. Turned it on and it was leaking. Leak coming from the adaptor pump assembly. Couldn't wait 2 more days.Found part at a local parts store for $40.00. Was able to change it by reaching underneath and not pulling dishwasher out again. All three parts needed to be changed. Dishwasher now working fine. If your leaking underneath and taking out the dishwasher change those 3 parts.
I had a slow leak from vicinity of sump. I replaced sump and pump connector as these were only likely sources of leak based on parts select history. Turns out plastic tub had a fine crack. The crack was directly under the heating element which had melted the plastic and over time created this small crack that was found by a repair guy

Open dishwasher and remove the bottom spray wheel, filter, and unscrew the mounting bracket to release the pump connector below the bottom of the unit. Remove mounting screws at top front of dishwasher and carefully slide the unit out; you may have to pry side panels inward with a flat screwdriver in order to get the dishwasher past any
... Read morecabinetry. Be careful not to pull the dishwasher too far out as the water supply and drain hoses could be damaged. Unplug the unit. Turn unit sideways and tip over onto its' back. At this point, the sump will have to be removed using a nut-driver and/or socket set. This will open access to remove the old pump connector. Replace the old connector with the new connector, and reassemble the sump, connecting and firmly tightening all connectors. Tip unit upright. Screw mounting bracket back into the bottom of the dishwasher and put the remaining parts back. Before pushing the unit back into it's nook, I advise running a quick cycle just to make sure there is no leakage. If there is no leakage, put the unit back, tighten the mounting screws and you're done.

Water leak from under dishwasher. Leaky inlet sump
Disconnected the electricity, the drain hose, and the water supply from the dishwasher. Loosened the two screws from the countertop and pulled out the dishwasher. Turned it on to it's side. ... Read moreelop a small crack from the inside. I decided to replace it as well. The job involves removing the hose clamps and removing the spray mechanizm from the interior of the dishwasher to spin out the inlet sump. Not a difficult job.
unscrewed dishwasher from cabinet, then I flipped dishwasher on it's side. loosen pump motor bracket arm on the end of the motor. loosen pump motor to pump conecter hose clamp and then unscrewed pump motor connector from dishwasher. To install I did the reverse. very easy.

Leak from the bottom center
The connector pump had a pinhole leak at the seam (new part did not have seams). Also replaced the sump inlet which looked worn and the impeller.

Dw fills ok with water but, when pump starts, water comes pouring out from under left side kick panel. Open dw door and it stop, etc. Any ideas would be most helpful. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. Based on what you described, you will need to check the water inlet valve and the drain pump. There may be a bad wash impeller in the pump and it may need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

After the dishwasher has completed it full cycle, water remains at the bottom of the dishwasher and does not fully drain out? What is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks.

We suggest cleaning the Fine Filter, Drain Hose, Pump and Sump from any debris and build up preventing all of the water from draining before the end of the cycle. Make sure the Flapper on the Drain Pump is not damaged as well. If they are all good and clear, you may need to replace the Drain Pump.
