Hi the dishwasher is causing the breaker to flip. When you turn the dishwasher on it sounds like the motor is frozen. Any suggestions?

Hi Cheri,
Thank you for the great question. There are a couple of reasons why your appliance may be tripped your circuit breaker. Most times it is a wiring problem. Disconnect the power to the appliance and remove it from the cabinet. Check the power cord for any fraying or exposed wiring. Then open up the door panels of your appliance. Check the internal wiring of your dishwasher to see if there are any burn marks. It could be that you have some faulty wiring on the inside. Which may also explain why you are hearing a strange sound from the motor. Humidity and leaking can also cause the circuit breaker to flip as well. If you think that you are unable to inspect and test the wiring of the appliance, I would suggest contacting a repair technician for further assistance.
