This kit should contain both springs of the Solenoid assembly drain kit.
I replaced this part and the leaking drain valve seal at the same time. My dishwasher was leaking underneath when the drain cycle kicked in. The kit comes with everything but both springs! The extra e-clip was a nice touch though. The kit comes with the smaller spring but not the longer spring that actually works the Solenoid when the electro magnet turns on to allow the water to drain. The new solenoid was making a buzzing noise with 14 year old longer spring. Had to order the spring kit just to get the other spring I needed. Now my dishwasher runs like a new machine again with no leaks or buzzes.

Water would not drain out and keep filling up sprayers work
Your video doesn't include disconnecting water supply disconnecting electrical and disconnecting drain hose but after all that the repair to change the solenoid was a easy task but the problem was not solved so I TRIED . thanks Robert
Drain solenoid burned out causing it not to open and close.
Turned off the electricity to the dishwasher,removed the old solenoid,and put the new one on(very easy),turned the electrical breaker back on.

Water would not drain.
The washer ran through a full cycle, but the water didn't drain out. I pulled out the drain vent and checked for foreign objects. Also checked at the drain hose/disposal joint and there was no blockage. After removing the bottom panels I noticed the solenoid was shot. Cylinder was burnt up and stuck solid in the up position. I went online
... Read more and found that a main cause of this can be from the timer causing the solenoid to over exert and burn out. I decided if I was going to order parts and dig into a repair I should replace both. For the timer it is just a matter of unscrewing the inner door panel and unplugging the old timer. Then inserting new one. Couple of things I ran into were the door is no longer heavy enough to stay down so I grabbed a waffle iron as a weight to hold it down. Also will need to unscrew the set screw on the Door lock latch's bottom side. Pay close attention to how it was together helps. For the solenoid I removed the main screws holding the unit in place as well as the c-clip holding the plastic arm. Undo the spring and plug and the whole unit comes out. Reverse these steps with the new solenoid to install.
Identified solinoid responsible for the operation of the drain flapper valve had become damaged, possibly due to its coil shorting and overheating, the inside plastic insulation then melted and came up through the solinoid pin hole. REmoved the bottom to plates on the dish washer removed the old solenoid put the new one in and the washer was fixed. if i could replace it anyone could do it.

Dishwasher will fill but doesn't drain. What you turn the timer knob it doesn't make the distinctive clunk sound when it changes cycles. I'm thinking it is the timer has gone bad. Is this most likely the problem?

Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your drain solenoid and your timer both. It could be either of those parts causing the issue. If they are both testing find however, you might have to look into your motor being the problem. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My dishwasher is leaking where the drain solenoid kit attaches to the shaft. Is there a seal that is supposed to go around that shaft i believe that is where my water is coming from? Thank you

Hello Brock, Thank you for the question. Checking the video and the parts diagrams, I am not showing a gasket or seal on the shaft. You may need to check the shaft to see if it is lose or wore down. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

How do i determine if the drain solenoid is working properly? As i turn the control knob through the cycle the solenoid activates, but doesn't seem to stay down long enough to drain. The problem i have is not filling with water. The float switch tests ok, float not stuck. Replaced the inlet valve which i thought was bad (tested at 1.15k ohm), but still no water. Water supply is good to the inlet valve.

Dishes are fair to poor on the clean side. Some water always in bottom of the floor that does not look clean and clear. It seams to go through the cycles ok

Hi Jack, Thank you for the question. I suggest first checking the Impeller and Seal Kit. Make sure the impeller is intact and not damaged.Also check to make sure the Sump and the cover are clean and undamaged. Hope this helps!

Dishwasher works fine except when the drain solenoid engages to allow the water to pump out - there is a water drip that domes from the plastic lever on the top of the drain solenoid. This only happens when the drain solenoid is engaged to pump out the water. The drain solenoid works fine except it leaks when it is engaged.

According to our research, the issue is most probably related to the valve shaft seal, part number PS263930, also check the drain hose, part number PS260686, is properly clamped and not clogged, and the drain solenoid, part number PS260117, is properly attached. Dishwasher will drain sometimes. Sometimes I can hear the solenoid activate but it doesn't pull the cam down far enough/fast enough.The solenoid seems fast and strong but occasionally the dishwasher fails to drain.Working the cam by hand everything feels free.

The solenoid opens the drain valve flapper to drain the dishwasher. Checking the drain solenoid for continuity using a multimeter might help. Good luck with the repair!
Hi, my dishwasher is not draining, l pulled out the piston and nut assembly, and the rubber plunger is quite worn. Do l need the complete assembly, or can l just replace the plunger? Second, l found the chopper loose in the drain . Do l have to pull out the whole motor assembly to attach it, or will my dishwasher run without it. Dale

Hello Dale, thank you for your question. Yes, it is best to replace the entire assembly, not just the plunger. I believe the whole motor assembly would have to be removed to reattach the chopper. The chopper is very important as it chops up the food residue for easy draining and filtering. I hope this helps!
