Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
The selector knob is what you use to start the dryer. This replacement knob comes with a retaining clip. This is a very easy repair, the only tool you may need is a pair of needle nose pliers. Remove the existing knob by pulling it off, making sure to remove the retaining clip as well. Line up the new knob with the D-shaped shaft and slide it into place.

Inop Start switch, holes in lint filter
Switch replacement needs only Torks driver, very simple.
The lint filter arrived damaged. The screen is mangled and the frame is cracked. It may be repairable.

Selector Knob and rotary switch broken
Unplugged dryer and pulled away from wall a sufficient distance to be able to stand behind it. Located the four screws located along to top of the dryer control panel. Selected the correct torx bit (not philips or slot) and unscrewed all 4 screws. Front of control panel rotated open such that the inside of the rotary start switch was v
... Read moreisible. Removed broken switch by pushing down the catch tab with one finger and using the other hand to rotate the switch counter-clockwise about 1/4 turn (to the 9 o'clock position). Installed new switch by inserting in the same 9 o'clock position and rotating clockwise until the metal tab locked the stitch in place. Used a vacuum to clean out lint and replaced panel and securing with the 4 screws. Attached the new selector know by lining up with hole and pushing in. Took the extra 2 minutes unscrew the band holding the air vent and vacuum the lint out. Replaced the flexible vent by tightening the band. Carefully pushed back the dryer, ensuring not to kink the flexible vent. Plugged dryer back in. Worked like a champ.
The two dial buttons were broken on a white appliance. The dials sent were bone white.
Pull out old, insert new.

Rotary start switch stem broke off
I simply removed the back of the dryer top and disconnected the old start switch and connected the new part. It honestly took me longer to take out the screws to remove the back plate than it did to replace the rotary start switch. It was very easy and I had a lot of confidence due to watching the Partselect instructional video on YouTube

The shaft broke in half where the start knob attaches to can that be replaced if so what is the part number

The shaft is part of the rotary start switch and the whole switch would need to be replaced once the shaft is broken. For your model the switch is part number PS268305.

Hi. When i select timed drying it will advance/shut off way before it's suppose to for example if 20 min is selected,it might shut off in half the time and if i select say automatic cotton's,it won't advance at all and will only shut off if i turn the timer or open the door. What part do u think i need to replace?

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you will have to test to see if they are working correctly. You will have to test both your high limit thermostat and your cycling thermostats. You may also want to test your interlock, and door switch as well to determine what is wrong. I hope that helps.
