Original part had a split and was leaking
The repair went very easily. Maytag/Whirlpool really makes these types of repairs simple, just need basic tools. If you leave the wiring harness on the old inlet valve and just remove the connectors from the control unit, you can reference it when plugging in the new harness after the new inlet valve is installed. Two screws and three hose clamps later (not counting the screws on the back of the washer) and the old inlet was out, the new one in.

Will this fix my washer. It want fill but everything works. Neither the cold nor cold fill cycles will work
For model number Mvwb400vqo

Hi Hugh, Thank you for your question. If the washer is not filling with water, then the issue is likely with the water inlet valve. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello, the fabric softener dispenser on my top load washing machine is no longer dispensing. The detergent and bleach dispensers are working without issues. After opening the washing machine, i have removed the fabric softener tray and hose, flushed it clear with water, and it continues to not dispense. Will replacing the water inlet valve with wire harness correct this?
For model number WTW6600SB3

Hi Duy, thank you for your question. The parts to check for this problem after cleaning out the area would be your water inlet valve. You can test that part with a multi meter to make sure it is working correctly. It should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms. If that part is fine then the issue might actually be in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with you repair.

Water level malfunction, fills the whole way to the top of the drum.
For model number MTW6700TQ1

Hi Peggy, Thank you for your question. If the washer will not stop filling with water, first check the water inlet valve. If a component inside the water inlet valve has failed, water may continue to fill the tub even after the desired level is reached. You will need to remove and inspect the water inlet valve visually and check it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting. Before removing and testing the water inlet valve, unplug the washer from the electrical outlet. inspect the valve for any signs of wear or damage. If there are no visible signs of damage, test the water inlet valve with the multimeter. You should receive a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. If you get any other reading, you will need to replace the water inlet valve. If the water inlet valve is fine, remove the water pressure hose and submerge one end of it in water and blow in the other end. An undamaged hose will not have any bubbles coming out of it. Inspect the hose for any signs of cracking, wear, or damage. If it is damaged you will need to replace it. If the hose is fine, the electronic control board may need to be replaced as it controls the water level. We hope this helps!

There is no cold water being delivered into the washer. Get a Lf message during cycle and when running the automatic diagnostic water is leaking out onto the floor during the cold water cycle. Will the water inlet valve replacement likely take care of this?
For model number wtw6700tw1
PartSelect logo
Hi Mike, thank you for reaching out. We have found that the lf error code indicates that the washer is taking too much time to fill the tub. If cold water is not being delivered into the washer, it may be due to the defective water inlet valve, part number PS3490233. If your water inlet valve is defective, the washer will take more time to fill and display lf error code. You may need to check the water inlet valve to fix the issue. We hope this information helps!

I was able ouch in the left clip to lift the top of the machine, but i cannot push in the right clip. It won't budge. Any suggestions?Thank you, bob
For model number 110. 28062800
PartSelect logo
Hello Bob, thank you for your question. If the clip is stuck in the top you may need to use a flat putty knife and rubber mallet to hit the clip and push it back inside the unit to release. This may break the clip, which may be the only way to remove it unfortunately. I hope this helps!
