My dishwasher started making a loud whiring sound when washing. It’s quiet when draining. It does wash, it’s very noisy. I cleaned the screens, removed the plastic housing over the circulation pump and notice the plastic fly wheel is stiff and does not rotate freely by hand. I suspect the bearings on the circulation pump. Can you confirm? Is that a full pump replacement or is there some other fix?
For model number FGHD2465NF2A
Hello Richard, Thank you for the question. If the fly wheel is not turning freely it does sounds like it is defective. Unfortunately the wheel and bearings are not repairable on their own and the pump PartSelect Number PS3501028 will need to be replaced. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

I have this fgid2466qf4a Frigidaire dishwasher and none of the spray arms spin. I suspect that its maybe and issue with the circulation motor and there is not enough pressure. How else can i troubleshoot that this motor is not working? What is your return policy if i purchase this motor?
For model number FGID2466QF4A
Hello Martin and thanks for writing.
Not enough pressure could be from your water inlet valve # PS9865067 if that is faulty or debris stuck in it could cause your spray arms to malfunction. In some cases, if the water pressure coming into your house is low that can be a problem. So we would suggest checking the water valve first before moving on to the motor. You can check that part with an ohmmeter.
Apparently there is a difference between the “Drain Pump” and the “Drain Motor”. Drain Motor Resistance should be between 20 - 40 Ohms. (Drain Motor, attached to the sump pump, is larger.)
. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
Is there a way to test to see if the motor is bad using a multi-meter? I am especially curious about part #: Ps3501028. Thanks.
For model number FGID2466QF5A
Hello Sean, thank you for your question. You would want to test the 2 wire connection for 120 vac when the drain is on. If there is 120 vac then the motor is faulty and would need replaced. I hoep this helps.

Is the circulation pump responsible for draining the water from the dishwasher or does draining use a separate motor? Thanks!
For model number FGID2466QF5A
Hi Sean,
Thank you for your question. There is a drain pump that is responsible for draining the water from the dishwasher. The part number listed under your model number for the drain pump is PS8689824.
