Microwave on its own enters “melt” function. Keypad won’t respond. Will this part fix this problem?
For model number PVM1970SR1SS
Hi Dave,
Thank you for your question. If the touchpad is not responding, then the issue is with the secondary door switch, part number PS237421, and it will need to be replaced. The secondary door switch is a simple on/off mechanism that stops the microwave from operating when the door is open. The switch monitors the door latch position, and communicates whether the door is open or closed to the electrical control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Does pad come off by its self or do you have to take microwave apart
For model number pvm1970sriss
Hello Chris, Thank you for the question. The vent above the door will need to be removed to gain access to the screw that holds the panel in place. Hope this helps!

Shorted keypad error was displayed. I unplugged the unit and then it goes into the melt function, but nothing works. I removed the keypad and control board. Reseated the ribbon cable, reconnected everything and it worked as it should, but after about an hour it again went to keypad short error. Should i replace the wb07x11360?
For model number PMV1970SR1SS
Hello Kirk, thank you for your question. Yes, it sounds like the key pad has failed. We would recommend replacing the WB07X11360. I hope this helps!
