My refrigerator and freezer are not keeping thing cold and freezer not freezing how do i know this part will work
For model number rfg297hdbp
Hi Sandra, thank you for your question. You would have to test the parts to know which one is going to be your issue. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I was wondering if you could see my first question and your response? I can not find the Compressor Overload Protection. Part number DA34-00004D in manufacture break down is shows #4 or 4-1. The only part near the compressor or on the compressor is the cover relay #11 or 9 VALVE STEP;DC12V,MODULE,. Would it be integrated into the PS11733349 Assembly PCB EEPROM;0X18,D60? I don't have a problem buying the part I have a problem buying parts the that are not part of the unit
Thank you so very much

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your question. The overload, part number PS4138715, would not be part for the PCB board, it is usually plugged into the side of the compressor. It is likely behind the relay cover. We hope this helps!

Is DA34-00004D refrigerator compressor overload protector part of my model.
For model number RF260BEAESG
Hello David, thank you for the question. This compressor overload protector does not fit your model. Your model does not have a compressor overload protector, it has an inverter board, part number PS9604069. A refrigerator inverter is an electronic device that regulates the speed and power of the compressor motor in a refrigerator. Glad to be of help!
My fridge is 10 years old and it went to OF (demo mode). We reset it and it is not cooling or freezing like it should.

Hi Veda,
Thank you for your question. If you held the buttons on the left of the panel at the same time for 3-5 seconds until you heard either a beep or bell sound, and the refrigerator is still not cooling, try it again. If it does not work you may need consult with Samsung for more information. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
The frig worked & then sat idle for 10 months unplugged during a home renovation. It finally was sold & carefully moved to another home. There is no power at all to the frig. I have checked the outlet, replaced the power cord, and opened & reclosed all connections. Nothing has changed. Suggestions?

My refrigerator comes on and immediately the compressor turns off and the red light on the computer board comes on.
For model number RF28JBEDBSR
Hello Brian, thank you for contacting us. The issue is most probably related to the compressor overload, part number PS4138715. It activates components such as the compressor and fans to keep the refrigerator cool. If this does not help, there may be a problem with the control board, part number PS9604083, in your refrigerator. The control board is responsible for controlling the compressor and other functions of the refrigerator. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!
This is a 4 door frig the top temp is in the mid to upper 40's the lower left is 45 and the right is 38. The compressor is warn and the discharge tube is warm. When I unplug the unit to take it apart. Then plug it back on the compressor fan runs. I have a solid red light on the circuit board. The evaporators are not frozen up (2) the fans in the lower section free wheel but does not run! I was reading that these fans need to run just about 100% of the time?

Hi Michael, thank you for getting in touch. We would recommend checking the compressor overload protector first. If the issue still persists, you may need to replace the power control board, part number PS11733349. It activates components such as the compressor and fans to keep the refrigerator cool. We hope this solves your problem!
