I'm having trouble with my Samsung French door refrigerator. In the refrigerator section the evaporator keeps freezing up causing the fan blades to hit the ice and make a loud noise. It's also causing the refrigerator to not cool efficiently. Can this thermal fuse potentially be the culprit? And how do I test the thermal fuse with my multi meter?
For model number RF4287HARS/XAA
Hello Benjamin, thank you for your question. The most likely culprit here is the defrost heater (part number: PS4140530) and the second on the list is the defrost thermal fuse (part number: PS4140642). Set the multimeter for continuity and connect the probes of the multimeter to the terminals. The multimeter will give a beep sound if the fuse is continuous and ok. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair.
I have a bottom mount freezer. The top refrigerator part water is leaking and pooling under the krisper drawer. I took apart the back inside of the refrigerator. I don't think the small fan is working and the ice was built up around the evaporator. Can the thermo sensor also be damaged? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hello Bobby, thank you for the great question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the drain hose and defrost thermal fuse to fix the issue. If the drain tube is clogged or frozen, then clean it and replace the defrost thermal fuse, part number PS4140643. We hope this solves your problem!

Freezer section will not cool at all 66 degrees. I run diagnostic and everything works in diagnostic mode. I replaced both freezer thermostats and it still doesnt cool. What could be the issue so i can order another part.

Hi Ed,
Thank you for your question. If the freezer section of your refrigerator is too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. We recommend checking the main electronic control board, the dispenser control board, the evaporator fan motor and the condenser fan motor. We have included a link from our website that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!
my freezer mine is eliminating the water from the back if not on the contrary it is liquidating under the door.

Hi Emma, thank you for asking. You may need to check the defrost heater assembly, part number PS4140651, to fix the issue. It melts frost from the evaporator fins during the automatic defrost cycle. If this is faulty, the freezer will not defrost and the ice will melt and leak from the back. We hope this solves your problem!
