dryer would make a sound when the button was pushed but no response from the unit
I read your suggested test to determine where the problem was that was making the machine not start. Got part . Took off back control panel. I put the part on as your instructions guided me . SUCCESS! I set the timer and pushed the button and the dryer began turning immediately.

will this part fix the dryer not starting unless the door is open?
For model number ferb6600fs0
Hi Mike, thank you for contacting us. First, check the door switch, part number PS2330880. If that does not take care of the issue, we recommend checking the following parts: selector knob, part number PS2330885, thermal limiter, part number PS419402, and drive motor, part number PS418132. We look forward to hearing from you if you need assistance with placing an order through our 7-days-a-week customer service. We hope this helps!
Will the timer still cycle (rotate) even if the dryer is not running
For model number GLGR1042FS0
Hello Robert, Thank you for your inquiry. If your dryer continuously runs after the time is up, this points to a faulty dryer timer. You can test it with a multimeter, setting it to the RX1 setting and place the probes on the terminals, the ohm reading should be between 2000-3000 and if it is not, then the timer is faulty. Good luck with your repair.

Start button only works intermittently, if I fiddle with the timer knob the start button eventually works. Is this most likely the start button or the timer knob and is there are way I can test them to be sure? Thanks
For model number FER211AS2
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your question. To verify if the issue is with the push-to-start-switch or the timer, you will need to test these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see if they are operating normally. Before removing and checking these parts, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. When checking the push-to-start-switch, you should receive a reading of zero. When checking the timer, you should receive a reading between 2000-3000 ohms. If your readings for these parts are different, then you will need to replace them. We hope this helps!
