This is a thermistor, also known as a dryer thermistor. The thermistor is attached to the blower housing, it will help regulate and oversee the temperature within the dryer. The most common symptom of needing a new thermistor is the dryer cycle not working. Before installing this part, you should disconnect your dryer from its power source. We also recommend you wear work gloves to protect your hands during this installation. To make this repair, the tools you will need include a multi-screwdriver, a Phillips head bit, and a flat-head bit.

A month prior to this repair, I took the dryer apart, cleaned the clogged lint out, and replaced the thermistor with a cheap aftermarket part. It lasted a month. Bought this more expensive OEM thermistor, hopefully of a better quality. Realized that I could have gotten to the thermistor from the back by simply removing the vent pipe an
... Read mored carefully reaching through the vent pipe hole to take out the thermistor. Did that this time instead of taking everything apart. Also bought an updated lint screen (aftermarket part). It has better mesh although it doesn't fit quite as perfectly as the original. So we'll see if the OEM thermistor lasts longer. The repair time was mostly spent moving the washer and dryer within a fairly small laundry room. The air lifter really helps.

Gas dryer was not heating adequately
I originally called a repair person to come out but that was a total waste of time and money. He removed the front of the dryer claimed there was a dryer sheet causing the problem and put it back together. Never again! ... Read moret door of the dryer off, removed the filter cover and the dryer drum & belt. Removing this was simple and allowed me to see everything I was working on. With the new part in hand, I removed one wire at a time from the non working heat sensor and connected it to the new part. That way I was sure I had the right connections. I then removed the thermostat making sure to put the new one back in place exactly as the old one. I then put the drum back in place with the belt securely fastened. I put the cover back on the lint filter and placed the dryer door back on securing it in place. The dryer is now working perfectly. It takes longer to take the dryer apart than to replace the old parts.

Dryer wasn’t heating
Well it went really well until the dryer was put back together as it still didn’t heat. The dryer was taken apart again. This time the thermistors &fuse was tested. Alas, the new fuse was faulty. After putting the car lid fuse back on n, the dryer worked again
Have to remove top panel (screws on upper back), then control panel (screws on front), then front panel and door (screws on front). Good Luck, watch for sharp edges.
The dryer shut itself off and displayed error code TO
Took off the back of the dryer and replaced the thermistor. A $7 part that would have been a couple hundred dollars if we had to call a repairman.

Hello Hilda, Thank you for your inquiry. This is one of the possible parts that could cause this issue. I would also check the heating element, the blower wheel, the thermostat, and the guide/moisture sensor. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. I would also make sure the lint filter and vents are clear of debris. Hope this helps!

Does not dry at all. Runs a full cycle but no heat. Dryer vent is clear of obstructions. No issues with venting but still not heat.

Hi Adam, Thank you for the question. there are a few parts you will need to test. The Thermal Fuse,
PartSelect Number: PS4205212, Thermostat, PartSelect Number: PS4205213, Thermistor, PartSelect Number: PS4204984 and the High Limit Thermostat - L260-50F, PartSelect Number: PS4205217. These parts are located on the element housing and the blower housing. Hope this helps!

At 77degrees my ohm reading is 985. If this is ok. What else could be blowing my thermal fuse? The exhaust is clear. Tube and outlet from house are new. My last thermal fuse only lasted about 5 loads.

Hello Jason,Thank you for contacting us. At 77 degrees it should read 10,000 ohms. 985 is pretty low and woudl be considered defective. When replacing the thermister it is a good idea to replace the fuse at the same time. When one goes it normally blows the other so we recommend changing them together. I have a Samsung dv350agp/xaa that turns on and counts down but is not turning nor is the motor on it was working until i put it on wrinkle care but it did not have the water hook up. It started on it with 20 minutes and it went to 17 min then turned off i tried to go back to normal dry but it just started and counting down
