Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This ice maker assembly in your bottom-freezer refrigerator automatically produces and dispense ice. It consists of a mold for 9 ice cubes, a control device, and a 12-pin wiring connection and housing. Its dimensions are approximately 4-1/2 inches by 12-3/4 inches by 4-1/4 inches, and it can produce about 84 ice cubes within 24 hours. This genuine OEM assembly is sold separately from the water line and the water inlet valve.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Easy installation
Essentially it is a "plug and play" part. It took less than 15 minutes to unpackage, view the video, and install. As an aside, this repair was a process of elimination. I repaired my water line, which was always a problem. After I fixed the water line, the water flowed great from the dispenser, but the ice maker was still not producing ice. I looked for videos that described my particular problem, but all were about defrosting and more complicated repairs. After running a test, I did not hear the icemaker respond. I figured this has to be it or a circuit board issue. The new ice maker works great.

Ice maker not making ice
Unscrewed 1 screw, removed panel, disconnected old icemaker and removed it, Added new icemaker, reconnected, replaced panel, replaced screw, & reset new icemaker. Started making ice almost immediately. Threw out entire first load of ice. Working great since! I wasn’t sure if it was the icemaker or the water valve to it so had a guy come
... Read more out ($50) who confirmed it was the icemaker. He wanted $550 to replace it (part/labor). We bought the part here at Part Select for $185 (part/tax/delivery) and saved $265 on a job that took less than 15 minutes.

Am I required to replace the ice maker with only the water inlet valve seeming bad? Or is a separate part available? It is not located at the lower rear of the fridge like many are. Is it part of a complete assembly?
For model number RF4267HAWP/XAA-0000
Hello Steve,
Thanks for your question. You may only need to replace the water inlet valve itself, as that can be a common cause for the icemaker not working. The water inlet valve is only included with a water filter case assembly, part number PS4176291.
I hope this helps.
Ice maker does not make ice anymore in new home, but water still works. Do not have a filter because there is a whole home filtration system. Any suggestions? Thank you.
For model number RF4287HARS
Hello William, Thank you for the question. Going from the information given, you could have a defective Water Valve, PartSelect Number PS4175482. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Ice maker makes ice that is released in a slightly melted state, then re-freezes together in large clumps in the ice bucket that cannot pass through dispenser and fouls the auger. Does this require a new ice maker?
For model number RF4287HARS/XAA
Hello Joe, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the temperature in the Freezer. If the temperature is too warm the ice will melt slightly and cause the clumping. We suggest testing the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps!
The ice in the tray melted and it quit making ice. The water on the door is also is not cold and the freezer is minus 2 degrees. Is there a fan in the freezer compartment that blows cold air to the ice maker compartment or how does the freezer air get to the ice maker?
For model number Rf267AEBP
Hello Larry, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend you check the evaporator fan motor, part number PS4138377. We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!
Will this correct error code 39e? Do I need to replace the water valve as well? Thank you for your reply.
For model number RF4267HARS
Hello Nathan, Thank you for the question. The 39E Error Code indicates the Ice Maker will need to be replaced. We have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is PartSelect Number PS5575307. We hope this helps!

My bottom icemaker seems to come out with frozen together cubes and frozen in drop pan all together
For model number RFG298HDBP
Hello Pam, Thank you for the question. Insufficient cooling can cause ice to melt and clump together. We suggest putting a thermometer in the freezer to be sure it is 0° F (-18° C). We hope this helps!

My ice maker started making noises, and i finally noticed a thick accumulation of ice under the pull out freezer, after ice maker quit working. I had to shut ice maker off, to prevent leaking further. Any idea what part i would need to order?
For model number RF4287HARS/XAA
Hello Lori, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking to see if the ice maker is overfilling. If it is filling normally and just not making ice, you may need to replace the ice maker. Hope this helps!
