Replacement Part
The part was received in a damaged box that had no internal padding. The broiler element was bent in at least 3 different areas. I don’t know yet if will work! I tried to bend back areas and installed, but have not checked to see if it is functional due to being hit hard with Hurricane Florence in NC and did not want to test until after the storm passed.

Both standard & convection oven not heating in upper oven
Circuit breaker off. Watched You Tube video to easily remove and set aside oven door, and shelves, unscrewed back wall cover over convection heating element, and slid out cover over floor heating element. Used ratchet to easily disconnect both old heating elements & pull from rear wall, holding onto two clip electrical connectors while
... Read moregently pulling out plenty of slack as wires fed through insulation material. Concern of "losing" wires back into oven wall not truly a problem if careful. Both sets of connectors pulled off, easily and then slid onto replacement elements without trouble. Circular convection element screwed back into place and cover replaced. Replacement floor element was similar, but not identical, to original. Wires connected fine, but base plate and two screw holes to attach to rear wall were of different size. It rests underneath oven lower cover on its own feet, so really didn't require support. Being DIY obsessive, I nonetheless used its base plate as template to drill two new holes in oven back, secured with old screws. Replaced cover, shelves, door, and woking like new!
Turned power off to oven Unscrewed broiler nuts (total of 4) Pulled Broiler out from back of stove Disconnected wires Reconnected wire Remounted broiler and replaced bolts Turned power back on

Remove and replace Broil (upper) heating element.
Turn off the power to the oven. (There should be a circuit breaker in the main power panel dedicated to just the oven) (the oven should be cool to the touch). Open and remove the door by pulling it up and off the hinges (this is best accomplished with a helper). Remove the racks (wire shelves). Remove the two 1/4" mount

Gently pull the wires out and disconnect them from the heating element. Now reverse the process. Connect the wires to the new heating element in the same fashion as they came off. Push the wires and heating element back in place and secure with the four screws. Replace the wire racks (shelves). Replace the door (again, this is best accomplished with a helper). Turn the power back on. Run a test of the broiler to make sure the repair was completed properly. voila!

Burnt Broiler Element
Just like everyone else it was a simple r&r. However, when removing or installing wire clips I make it a habit to hold the ends with needle nose to prevent any: "snap!" ooops! However to prevent burning the element in the first place, it is strongly suggested to push that broil button twice so that it is set to low temp. It is too easy

Broiler Element Failed
Disconnect the power to the oven at the main breaker panel. Open the oven door to the first stop (not all the way open) and pull straight up to remove the oven door from the hinge. Broken Bake Element
I unfastened the three 1/4" rear screws, then the two support screws on top. I pulled the old element out,( plenty of slack wire luckily). disconnected it from the bayonet-type connections, then attached the new element. I secured the new element using the 1/4" screws. Bingo!

Broil (top) element replacement for oven
After turning the breaker off, using a 1/4 inch nut driver I removed all the clamp screws (5) holding the heating element in place. I then unplugged the element wire spades from the rear of oven and removed the old element. Installing the new one was simply going in reverse order. You recommend using model # jsp47bf1bbb parts. The diagram shows this with two spreaders(?) but the blow up of the part only shows the rear one. Does this mean you should reuse the front spreader on the new part. The one i wish to replace has two spreaders with the front spreader used to fix the unit to the top of the oven.
