COVER LATCH BROKEN
I recieved the package with the correct part number but the wrong part inside. The item in the package does not even resemble the part on the GE parts website. Tried to contact parts select but no luck.
Received replacement part. There is a cover over the ice box latch. Pried it off with a screwdriver head. Took the broken latch off replaced new latch to cover and replaced on the door.

How do i replace door latch on ice machine part #wr11x10031
For model number DFE28JMKBES
Good Day Jim. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number DFE28JMKBES). Based on our research, here are the steps that should help you: 1) Unplug the power cord before conducting any repair. 2) First pull off the door trim. 3) Pull the gasket back and detach the gasket retainer from the door liner. 4) Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the old door latch. 5) Install the new door latch by inserting it into the gasket retainer. 6) Replace the screw to secure. 7) Place the edge of the gasket retainer behind the lip of the door frame. 8) Tuck the retainer spring into the slot in the liner then snap the retainer back into place. 9) Reinstall the door trim. 10) Plug the power cord back in and confirm that the door closes and latches properly. Hope this helps. Best Regards.
