(Mnaufacturer part number 1694442) - This spring breaks off at the lower hook when in use: The entire spring, turnbuckle and rod assembly (linking the handle control paddle to the large "u" shaped rod sticking out of the lower rear housing) vibrate whether the paddle is engaged or not. Have replaced 3 times in the last 1 1/2 years using instructions in the owner's manual for proper tensioning. This last time, it was the rod (part number 1702485sm) that sheared off at the top and had to be replaced. Please, can you tell me what might be causing this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Terry,
Thank you for your question. The extension spring is what keeps tension on the idler pulley during operation. If there is no tension, or very little tension on the idler pulley, it can cause the belt to jump around on the pulleys, which causes vibration. Over time your extension spring may lose elasticity. If your spring is worn out we recommend replacing it. We hope this helps you with your repair.
